Many years ago, Lam Research embarked on a journey to set up a global center in Bangalore to expand its reach Indian talent pool. Over decade, this center expanded its capability and scope beyond engineering to global manufacturing, supply chain operations and other shared services. One of the major functional groups of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and engineering support functions work collaboratively to design, develop sub-assemblies and sub-systems for Lam’s next-generation products. LIGHT has completed more than a decade of growth and has emerged as a major new product development and sustaining engineering team for Lam’s global engineering footprint.

There is an opening for the role of Project Engineer Lead. This position is based out of Bangalore, directly reporting to the leader of WETS Electrical team in WETS (Wet Equipment Technology Solutions) Group of LIGHT. This individual will manage and drive projects in new product of Electrofill products

Job Responsiblities

Position will focus on realizing results through

  • Develop and release product sub-systems through executing projects (e.g., Cables, Harness, Power Boxes) and working closely with engineering teams in India and the Product Group in USA
  • Develop Electrical Schematics and System Interconnect with respect to functional specifications of electrical/electromechanical systems and power distribution.
  • Projects that originate as part of New Product Development (NPD), Continuous Improvement Program (CIP), Non-Standard Requests (NSR) and Cost Reduction
  • Collaboration with cross functional teams to develop robust design solutions that ensure functionality (Mech & Elec), safety, manufacturability, serviceability, cost advantage, etc.
  • Being accountable for delivering on time with quality as part of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and obtaining necessary approval from stakeholders by following Product Development and Release (PDR) process.
  • Work collaboratively with project core team members in carrying out testing and validation activities in Hardware Lab

In addition, you are expected to coach and supervise Hardware Designers/Drafters for carrying out detailed design and drafting activities.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, with minimum 12 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in development of electrical and electro-mechanical systems/subsystems
  • Demonstrated strong Problem Solving and Decision-Making ability by applying structured process or tools such as 8Ds, Fishbone, 5 Whys, Pugh matrix, Pareto chart, etc.
  • Experience in driving and managing projects in collaboration with CFT (Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, Supply chain and Product safety) for project deliverables
  • Prepare and analyze test plans and procedures and possess hands on experience with various test and measuring equipment like multimeters, function generators, oscilloscopes, analyzers, for functional verification of PCBAs/controllers

Desirable Skill

  • Knowledge on Inventory control
  • Exposure to Semi-conductor industry related Engineering activities
  • Exposure to Switch gear manufacturing ecosystem
  • Excellent working knowledge on MS office software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Exposure on writing Excel Macros
