This is a Technical Program Manager position opening in the Direct Metals Business Unit of the Deposition Product Group (DPG). The Impact You’ll Make

As a Technical Program Manager at Lam, you are not just overseeing programs – you’re orchestrating breakthroughs in support of the Direct Metals product roadmap. You’ll lead cross-functional teams through successful program execution, blending your technical excellence with strategic planning to deliver new or upgraded products. Your role is vital, owning technical programs from initiation through delivery using your expertise in planning, directing, and monitoring scope, schedules and budget.

The role does not have any direct reports, but is highly cross-functional, so will lead matrixed teams of hardware engineering, marketing, software, platform, supply chain, manufacturing, and field support resources to achieve program objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Over-see the optimization or creation of technical product offerings, processes, or programs, developing program plans, aligning teams, managing risk, and driving programs from inception through gamma release.
  • Take ownership and accountability for the success of projects and cross-functional teams to ensure program schedules, performance metrics, and delivery meets business requirements on time and within budget.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand process and system requirements, and deliver enhancements based on a changing technology landscape.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects from inception to impactful results.
  • Perform data collection and statistical analysis, and report results to inform program schedules and deliverables.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve the process and inspire alignment.
  • Deliver change management for programs that are sustainable and maintain long-term success.
  • Successfully navigate multiple programs in a dynamic environment.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years’ experience; or a PhD with no previous professional experience; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of continuous improvement or technical program management.
  • Experience guiding cross-functional teams and demonstrating influence skills to deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to audiences at all levels in the Company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in or knowledge of Semiconductor fabrication, Semiconductor Equipment Operations, or related industries is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Program Management methods and experience in Product Development & Release (PDR) procedures.
  • Relevant project management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, Scrum Master, or PRINCE2.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma methodology or certification (Green Belt, Black Belt) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools including MS Project, QuickBase, Office Timeline, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Change Management methodologies is a plus.
