Over decade, this center expanded its capability and scope beyond engineering to global manufacturing, supply chain operations and other shared services. One of the major functional groups of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). LIGHT has completed more than a decade of growth and has emerged as a major new product development and sustaining engineering team for Lam’s global engineering footprint.

 

Component Engineering Group is a Centre of Excellence within LIGHT, responsible for COTS parts management and delivering component engineering solution to Lam. This position is for Component Engineering Manager-Electrical to lead all the electrical component engineering activities and collaborating closely with the Product Group engineering teams and other cross functional team across regions. This position is based out of Bangalore and directly reporting to the Group Manager for Component Engineering Group.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 12-14 years of experience and up to 18 years with people management functions
  • Educational qualification: Bachelors (Electrical / Electronics) / Post graduate degree preferred

Job Responsibilities

  • This role is part of Component engineering Group (CEG) with Lam India Global Hardware Technology (LIGHT) group. Leading a team of twenty or more electrical and mechanical engineers responsible for delivering COTS parts CAD solution and is responsible for the technical output of the team.
  • Leads the technical capability development of the engineering team comprising of EE/ME component Engineers and Electrical / Mechanical Hardware designers.
  • Manage and monitor KPI’s/Metrics related team deliverables (Cycle time, productivity, Turn-around time, and quality)
  • Drive Continues improvement projects to enhance process, quality, productivity & cycle time.
  • Develop & own roadmap of organizational technical capability that can support long term vision and drive organizational initiatives within team.
  • Mentor the team in technical problem solving.
  • Involve in all aspects of component engineering decisions such as design support which involves Component CAD solutions, Route qualification of Mechanical and Electrical CAD.
  • Own development plan, performance management & goal settings for diverse team members. Coaches and mentors, the team to improve the technical capability, deploys the talent strategy for the team.
  • Drives root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA)
  • Interacts with India and US-based Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Managers of different Lam Product Groups and in delivering results in Matrix Organization.

Mandatory Skills

  • People leadership, having an experience of leading minimum 6-8 or more engineers, setting goals, development plans. Experience in leading cross functional engineering projects working in collaboration with cross functional teams globally.
  • Good mix of preferred technical skills along with people management & Minimum 5-6 years of people management role.
  • Problem Solving, Conflict Management, Decision making, data analysis skills.
  • Experience working on quality tools like PSDM, 5-Why, Fishbone and Pareto analysis etc.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision, Initiative-taking, meticulous and passion for continuous improvements.
  • Solid knowledge of Standards such as NEC, NFPA 79, CSA, UL 508A, Semi
  • Good technical acumen with leading technically intensive new product development. Experience in PLM (product life cycle management applications).
  • Good Experience in CAD Library Development and maintenance (E3 Zuken, Cadence)

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with documentation standards for Mechanical, Electrical & Electromechanical Commodities standards.
  • Experience with PLM, Library management and Various Industry standards such as RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, IPC, SEMI etc. for Electrical, Electromechanical and Electronics components.
  • Excellent organizational, data collection and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of schematic, PCB (Printed Circuit Board).
  • Knowledge of BOM Management tools like Silicon Expert and HIS
