Component Engineering Manager

Job Responsibilities
- Lead, Develop & Manage group of engineers working on Component Engg - Alternate parts process
- Solve Component Engineering technical issues and mentor the team in technical problem solving
- Manage and monitor KPI’s/Metrics related to delivery of projects (Cycle time, productivity & quality)
- Drive Continues improvement projects to enhance process, quality, productivity & cycle time improvement
- Should be accountable for team and process development in component engineering
- Analyzing the Design Guidelines, PCB Layout and suggest the Alternates.
- Finding and analyzing the Critical parameters from Datasheets of Active/Passive/Mechanical components & Finding alternate parts and providing Form-Fit-Function analysis
- Verification/Validation/Classification of Components and OEM’s orderable Part Numbers in BOMs from Manufacturers Datasheet
- Involve in all aspects of component engineering such as design support which involves Component Selection including technical analysis, reliability of component, availability and Component cost.
Other Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute component evaluation, acceptance and qualification test plans.
- Provide inputs on component selection to New designs to improve product reliability by participating in design reviews and DFMEA.
- Ensure all existing and new internal part numbers and descriptions are correct.
- Liaise with Component Library team to guide on component specification and dimensions as needed.
- Liaise with Manufacturing and supply chain and work on Component related problem reports in solving and implementing.
- Initiate and lead efforts to identify and qualify second sources for material availability, cost reduction and reliability improvement.
- Interact with OEM & COTS (Commercial off the Shelf) suppliers for sourcing, alternate part identification, part & supplier qualification and costing of components.
- Good Knowledge of Supplier base related to Electromechanical / Electronic components.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics) with minimum 12+ years of experience in leading Electrical CAD / Component Engineering and people management functions in semiconductor or other Capital equipment industry
- Expert technical hands on experienced knowledge in Component Engineering and Component library management tools such as Zuken E3s, OrCAD and Allegro tool.
- Good mix of preferred technical skills along with people management
- Should be an excellent Problem Solver and analyzer, Conflict Manager, Decision maker and must have hands on experience in vast data analytic and handling skills.
- Hands on experience working on quality tools like 5Why, Fishbone and Pareto analysis etc
- Ability to work with little or no supervision, Self-motivated, detail-oriented and passion for continuous improvements.
- Results & execution driven consistently delivers on commitments & stretch goals.
- 4+ years of people management role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with documentation standards.
- Experience with PLM, Library management and Various Industry standards for Electrical, Electromechanical and Electronics components.
- Excellent organizational, data collection and presentation skills
