Introduction

Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making       leading-edge semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas – deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean. Lam Research India team is organized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. We have an open position in the Hardware group. The Hardware group, designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lam’s product lines, providing innovation for the next-generation products, providing improvements in cost and reliability. In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supplier quality engineers contribute to designing and improving Lam’s products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, test, document, and characterize complex electrical systems and sub-systems from defining specifications to manufacturing release
  • Develop Functional Requirement Specifications. Selection of Electrical & Electronics OEM components and materials for Power distribution, I/O Controllers, Sensors, Cables, PCBs etc.
  • Conduct concept and feasibility studies critical to new and legacy products. Ensures compliance to Product Development Release and Design Standards
  • Improve and enhance existing Modules/Sub-system, implement cost-effective solutions through established methodologies like Design For Manufacturing Assembly, Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Design for Six Sigma tools
  • Interacts with internal and external customers on design related issues, provides solutions, prepares detailed design, evaluates design testing / verification
  • Makes design decisions on major subsystems with knowledge of systems principles & approach, Review and approve system level Electrical engineering documents
  • Mentors and guides team members in selecting components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability
  • Collaborates with India and US-based Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Managers to achieve program objectives
  • Leads idea generation for future product/company/tech needs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters in Electrical Engineering with 10 to 12 Yrs Experience or
  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering with 14 to 16 Yrs Experience
  • Strong System level knowledge of Electro-Mechanical sub-systems (Semi-conductor / Automotive / Aerospace), Power distribution systems and/or Industrial automation.
  • Should have Owned and Executed Projects on Complex Electrical Product/Systems from initial design till customer acceptance.  (Experience in complete product lifecycle: Planning (concept and feasibility studies), Requirements, Design, Design Reviews, Design for Testing/ Manufacturability/Assembly etc, Testing and Troubleshooting, Integrating, Cross Functional Interaction etc and Prototype to Production Release.
  • Proficient in Electrical & Electronic Circuit design with safety interlocks, Components Selection and various Circuit analyses.  (Circuit analyses include De-rating & Stress analysis, Power analysis & Logic compatibility analysis etc)
  • Hands-on experience in Low/High Voltage Electronic Circuit design, Simulation and Testing for Power and Control applications (I/O Controllers/PLC).
  • Familiar with Safety standards like - UL 508, IEC 60947, SEMI S22, NFPA79.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with capital equipment or similar (for e.g., Semiconductor, Process industries, Medical instrumentation, Automotive, Aerospace, etc.) industry in a sub-system / module design projects.
  • Experience in selection of components, setting up equipment for experimentation / testing in laboratory environment, setting up safe practices.
  • Experience on PCB design, Embedded controls system would be added advantage
  • Knowledge in Engineering Change & Configuration Management Process.
  • Excellent Communication Skills and Result Oriented. Excellent Mentoring Skills.
