Introduction

Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge-semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas – deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean. Lam Research India team is organized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. We have an open position in the Hardware group. The Hardware group, designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lam’s product lines, providing innovation for the next-generation products, providing improvements in cost and reliability. In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supplier quality engineers contribute to designing and improving Lam’s products.

Minimum Qualifications

 

        Bachelor’s in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication Engineering with minimum 7 years of relevant experience.

Or

  Master's in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication Engineering with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

 

Job Responsibilities

You will be providing power & control solutions that includes design, development, test & documentation of complex system/sub-systems and test stands. Validate design concepts (e.g. PCBA, electronic item, controllers) by conducting prototype testing on test stands or simulator.   Conduct and drive successful design review to get buy-in from all cross functional teams for new design concepts. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering design team: electrical, mechanical, software, and suppliers on the design, modification, and obsolescence of custom and COTS (commercial off the shelf) PCBA's and Controllers. Develop functional specifications and system architecture for control & monitor of electrical/electro-mechanical systems and power distribution

Mandatory Skills and Experience required to perform the job

  • Expertise in delivering end-end (concept to production) electronic solutions in support of electrical and electro-mechanical systems/subsystems and power distribution
  • Demonstrated experience with Interface, operation and control of peripheral devices such as:  RTD’s, thermocouples, electric actuators, stepper motors, heaters, pressure sensors, pressure controllers, flow controllers.
  • Prepare and analyze test plans & procedures and possess hands on experience with various test & measuring equipments like multimeters, function generators, oscilloscopes, analyzers for functional verification of PCBA's/controllers
  • Knowledgeable in communication control protocols such: I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, EtherCAT, etc. and interface/communicate with host PC
  • Must have worked on any one of electrical engineering CAD tools like ORCAD, ZUKEN or equivalent CAD packages for circuit design & simulation.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with capital equipment or similar (for e.g., process industries, medical instrumentation, automotive, aircraft, etc.) industry in a sub-system / module design project.
  • Familiarity with safety standards such as IEC 61508
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, FPGAs, C prog, VHDL/Verilog is desirable
