Facilities Engineer - Mechanical

Job Summary
Plans facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall site facility mechanical infrastructure and owns final results associated with decisions that affect it
- Core areas of responsibility include (but not limited to):
- HVAC (cleanroom, office, process/scrubbed exhaust, boilers, and chillers)
- Process water distribution and integrity of supply quality
- Clean dry air infrastructure
- Natural gas infrastructure
- Process/Tool vacuum pumps and Abatement systems.
- Manage clean room particle quality documentation and coordinate resources to ensure cleanrooms stays within specifications.
- Responsible for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on capacity of all core responsible areas beginning from main distribution down to point of connection (POC)
- Manage and approve all core responsibility utility POC modifications and ensure contractor installations reflect internal documentation
- Identify infrastructure improvements which drive operating costs down, and/or support a more robust mechanical integrity enhancing business uptime
- Manage and report on expense and capital budgets associated with mechanical contractor
- Attend Weekly Operations meetings with R&D Lab stakeholders.
- Manage outsourced service providers to ensure work is completed as scheduled and incident action items follow-up is completed within agreed upon durations.
- Attends bi-weekly Site Incident Prevention Planning (SIPP) meetings and provide technical review/approval, including analysis of the risk assessment ratings (RAR) assigned to each SIPP – determine proper value of each RAR and guide the team to manage the risk to an acceptable level that maintains safety and schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 6 to 8 years of industrial design experience in semiconductor/ solar panel manufacturing
- Must possess advanced troubleshooting skills which support core responsibilities
- Strong organizational and communication skills, and ability to interact with internal customers efficiently
- Ability to work off hours and/or weekends if needed to support project deliverables on time while ensuring highest quality standards
- Experience in writing standard operating procedures for process systems
- Knowlege of P&ID, Instrumentation, Sequence of operations for process systems
- Experience in leading operating engineers and technicians in a lab or manufacturing setting in semiconductor/ solar panel manufacturing.
- Strong Excel and presentation skills
