Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge- semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas — Deposition, Etch, Photoresist strip, and Single wafer clean.
 

Many years back, Lam Research embarked on a journey to set up engineering center in Bangalore to expand its reach to Indian talent pool. Over the decade, this center expanded its capability and scope beyond hardware and software engineering to global manufacturing, supply chain operations and other shared services. One of the major functional groups of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). LIGHT has completed more than a decade of growth and has emerged as a major new product development and sustaining engineering team for Lam's global engineering footprint.
 

Lam Research opened a new engineering facility in Bengaluru to expand the R&D operations and capitalize on the technical talent in India. This new facility houses state of the art engineering lab that enables Lam India engineers to design, test and validate new designs and technologies locally. We are looking for Lab Service Engineers who will be responsible to maintain and upgrade the state-of-the-art equipment installed in the hardware lab. This position will also support engineers in their testing and design validations activities by providing necessary installation and documentation services. This position will report to the Engineering Lab manager and work from Bangalore office.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preventative/corrective maintenance, trouble shooting, upgrades, and calibration on equipment in the engineering lab.
  • Responsible for creating and updating work and equipment safety procedures needed for the operations of lab.
  • Responsible to address safety issues/ escalations by implementing appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Installs and supports Hardware and Software Engineering department's R&D activities, performing failure analysis of failed parts and any documentation requirements needed.
  • Responsible for procurement of materials and services needed for equipment and lab operations.
  • Responsible for installing and maintaining utility connection from equipment to facility point of connections.
  • Responsible for managing chemistries requirements for the testing activities, decontamination and chamber cleaning requirements.
  • Collaborate with Site operations team to provide necessary documentation requirements for equipment move in and equipment commissioning.
  • Facilitate any learning initiatives planned to provide hands on experience to Engineers.

Eligibility Criteria

  • BE in Mechanical/Electrical engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering Lab, preferably in semiconductor industry.

Mandatory Skills

• Experience in installation, commissioning and operation of semiconductor capital equipment in engineering, applications labs or semiconductor fabs
• Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills with good knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles.
• Experience in planning and executing preventive maintenance and equipment calibration.
• Experience in handling of chemicals. Good understanding of usage of chemicals andtheir interactions, disposal methods, decontamination requirements, etc.
• Strong technical documentation skills in creating standard operating procedures and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in working with Lam products is preferable.
• Relevant certifications in Field Service Engineering.
