The Group You’ll Be A Part Of

There is an opening for the role of Mechanical Engineer within the Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) of LIGHT organization. This position will be based out of Bangalore and will closely be working with the Engineering & Cross functional teams across global regions of Lam Research like US & India.

 

The Impact You’ll Make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

In this role, you will directly contribute to Productivity and Technology Upgrades to our global customers through Non-Standard requests

What You’ll Do

  • Provide Engineering quotation for Non-Standard Request (NSR) System upgrades opportunities

  • Design and develop Upgrade / Retrofit kits as per customer requirements

  • Participates in the conceptualization, modeling, analysis, development, documentation and test/validation of hardware associated with new designs

  • Able to scope NSR requirements through scoping review meeting for module conversion projects, (impacting SW, EE, ME)

  • Understand Audit details provided from Account team / Sales operations group for a particular tool / module

  • Perform Order BOM review to check current configuration v/s requirements

  • Review and approve changes to product configuration through Engineering Change Requests

  • Interact with Customer Account Team, Sales operations, and Product Groups to get all required info

  • Provide technical solution to obsolescence issues and analyze impact of obsolescence on various product configurations

  • Develops and present reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent, analysis, and validation at design reviews

  • Create & Submit CO for NSR changes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Production with minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 3 years of relevant experience, semiconductor industry preferred
  • Proficient in concept design and development of complex components/sub-system uses various Engineering/Quality/Analysis tools/DFx/processes to arrive at design decisions and validation through testing/prototyping
  • Ability to perform critical review & approval of complex design models/ layouts/ documentation
  • Proficient in 3D Modeling, Assembly and Detailing using Creo/UG NX/any PLM/PDM
  • Exposure to product structuring, configuration management & Non-Standard Request
  • Working experience in SAP R3
  • Excellent communication and Presentation skill
