We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

The Impact You’ll Make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for performing design and development of mechanical components and assemblies
• Designs components using variety of metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings
• Create electromechanical layouts, packaging, fixtures, tooling, and mechanisms
• Works with technology development, product engineering, suppliers, manufacturing and quality group to define specifications and complete the full design cycle
• Hands on experience to take design from concepts thru detailed drawing, parts procurement, DFM interaction with suppliers, assembly, test, build verification with deeper understanding of issues faced, lessons learned and closure
• Creates documentation and conducts design reviews in support of design efforts
• Collaborates with designers/drafters to generate medium complexity design documentation
• Responsible for doing basic mechanical engineering design calculations involving Structural & Thermal analysis
• Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI, Lam standards, and industry best practices for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Validates designs through prototype/computational modeling to support engineering decisions
• Provides resolution to medium complex problems
• Conducts guided brainstorming sessions and publishes clear notes
• Collaborate with internal teams to for procurement and assembly of components and equipment

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with 4 to 8 Yrs Exp.
• Proficient in 3D CAD tools such as Siemens NX
• Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.
• Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus.
• Experience in project management, or problem solving while managing time and multiple priorities.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
