You will be part of Additive Manufacturing Team.

This position will be based out of Bengaluru, reporting into Centre of Excellence (CoE) organization at Lam India Global Hardware Technology Department of the Global Products Central Engineering team at Lam; actively working with local and global product teams.

 

The Impact You’ll Make

This person will own technical support in Additive Manufacturing for existing and new unreleased products. The incumbent would be responsible for program management of technology/capability development initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for providing and implementing engineering solutions using Additive Manufacturing by partnering with Product Group Engineers during product development.
  • Identify manufacturing (AM and post machining) process constraints, and provide required feedback to designers
  • Capable to perform Topology optimization and interact with teams on implementing generative designs
  • Coordinate with other groups and organizations for design, process, test, reliability, and manufacturing to solve product issues and production problems
  • Knowledge of failure analysis, process development, application flows, particle contamination, material issues, system interconnects, software and controls, and customer points-of-view
  • Able to design experiments and independently perform data analysis on various technology enhancement efforts
  • Capable of identifying and recommending adjacencies in manufacturing technology to ensure parts can be made with min cost with optimal performance
  • Knowledge in Metals / Ceramics / Polymer engineering, as well as clean room environments, preferably for semi-conductor industry
  • Represent self/ team during design reviews with cross-functional teams (CFT) and stake holders to coordinate development and qualification activities

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.E./ B. Tech - Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Production with minimum 8 years of relevant experience (or) M.E./M.Tech - Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering with minimum 5 years of relevant experience. PhD with 3-5 years of industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of additive manufacturing materials and processes.
  • Hands-on experience on post-printing processes for 3D printed parts, such as surface finishing, quality inspections etc.
  • High learning agility to quickly pick up product knowledge and domain knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationship with local and global stakeholders, effective communication skills to be successful in matrix organization
  • Experience in diplomatically handling high pressure situations, asking right questions to get critical information, and steering the discussions in right direction
  • Ability to work in matrix organization –Interaction with cross functional technical teams and influencing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause-Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D & 5-Whys Problem solving
  • Previous experience in cross-functional project management
  • Previous experience leading technical projects
  • Strong project management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skill
  • Experience in Semi-conductor industry us a plus
