Primary Responsibilities

  • Concept design and development of RF subsystems. Idea generation, concept feasibility, design and maturity-to-manufacturing release by mitigating all risks & by aligning with all key stakeholders. Ability to employ FMEA rigorously for risk mitigation.
  • Use Work break-down structure (WBS) of scope and direct associates in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication/reviews, etc. per the WBS
  • Ability to rapidly generate design concepts, implement them and collaborate with counterparts in Lam Research locations and validate design against the requirements.
  • Testing and troubleshooting of RF components and subassemblies for semiconductor processing equipment, with specific focus on high voltage distribution systems, matching circuits.
  • Test Plan preparation, final qualification and integration of new design to the module and Conduct Design review to get buy-in from all cross functional teams.
  • Provide immediate response and timely resolution to design related production issues encountered during the build process.
  • Subject matter expertise level graduation

Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualification: Radio Frequency Design & Technology/ RF & Microwave Engineering

•    Ph.D. with 0-1 years of relevant work experience; or
•    Mechanical Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience; or
•    Mechanical Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience

Mandatory Skills

  • Knowledge of transmission lines, Characteristics Impedance, Insertion Losses, Return Loss, Velocity factor and impact of transmission line length on Impedance-matching
  • Experience in using Network Analyzer and Spectrum analyzer, RF power meters, Oscilloscopes, etc. Knowledge of High-power RF generation, RF distribution and Matching network topologies L, inverse L, T and Pi topologies
  • Selection of RF components (e.g vacuum capacitors, Inductors, different RF connectors and adaptors, Coaxial cable assemblies) and their specifications with engineering optimization. Knowledge of high power and low power RF filters, common mode chokes, transmission line transformers, circulators, series and parallel resonant circuits.
  • Problem identification with testing and troubleshooting of RF/Electronic circuits and understanding of EMI/EMC.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge in Safety precaution standards & procedures applied for RF & Electronics systems and components
  • Exposure in using simulation software’s like High frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), ADS Circuit Simulator, PSpice and LT-Spice Circuit simulator, MATLAB/ LabView
  • Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary environment with mechanical, chemical, and materials engineers. Ability to multi-task, work on multiple projects at the same time without losing effectiveness
