Job Responsibilities

  • Complete Computational Plasma modeling of complex reactor systems
  • Work with engineers from various Business Units to solve plasma, thermal, chemical reaction and mass transport problems and then proposes appropriate design solutions
  • Write reports to summarize modeling activity and presents to BU engineers as necessary
  • Improve modeling techniques and publish BKM’s
  • Research new methods of modeling to understand complex physics and simulate semiconductor process like Atomic layer deposition/Atomic layer etch

 

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Mentor/Assist Design Engineers to solve liquid and gas fluid flow problems
  • Partner with universities and research institutes to work on new and emerging technologies

Minimum Qualifications

  • M.S./M.E./M.Tech/PhD in Plasma Physics, Exp. 8 - 12 yrs (5 – 8 yrs with PhD)
  • Computational Plasma modeling using commercial packages
    • Expertise in fluid formulation of plasmas
    • Exposure to Direct Simulation Monte Carlo/Particle-in-cell Monte Carlo (DSMC/PIC-MC) and particle formulation of plasmas
  • Knowledge of Statistical Mechanics/ Molecular Gas Dynamics, Computational Fluid Mechanics and heat & mass transfer, Plasma physics, Basics of electromagnetics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering judgment and creativity to solve complex problems
  • Validate model accuracy, and determine appropriate actions.
