Modeling Technical Lead Engineer

Job Responsibilities
This position will be based out of Bangalore, reporting to the leader of Modeling manager in India, and closely working with Local and Global Product Groups. This individual would be responsible to simulate complex multi physics problems to aid product or process development by working closely with engineering teams in the US and Asia region.
Individual’s primary job responsibilities are listed below:
- Model development: Developing computational / numerical models to simulate fluid flow, heat transfer and chemical reactions. Experience of modeling semiconductor processing equipment is an added advantage.
- Simulation Setup: Setting up and configuring simulations based on specific semiconductor process requirements.
- Reduced Order models: Build reduced order models by applying dimensionality reduction techniques, developing mathematical formulations or algorithms. Train the reduced order models using preprocesses data and validate them. Utilize machine learning algorithms regression techniques to optimize model parameters and improve predictive accuracy.
- Parameter Optimization: Performing parametric studies to optimize process parameters for improved flow and thermal performance of the semiconductor equipment.
- Verification and Validation: Validate and verify CFD models against experimental data or analytical solutions to ensure accuracy of numerical models.
- Innovation and Research: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in CFD techniques, Fluid and heat transfer modeling techniques to propose innovative solutions and drive continuous improvements.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of simulations, methodologies, and results. Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Analyze large datasets generated from simulations, extract meaningful insights, and present findings to the team. Use data-driven approaches to make informed decisions.
Educational Qualifications
M.S./M.E./M.Tech/PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field from IITs/IISc / Premier foreign universities with chemical reactions modeling
Years of Experience: Masters with 3+ years of relevant experience/PhD with 1+ years of relevant experience
Mandatory Skills to Perform Job
- Strong background in Fluid and Heat transfer, chemical kinetics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
- Proficiency in using software packages such as ANSYS FLUENT, STARCCM+, COMSOL Multiphysics, OPENFOAM etc
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB or FORTRAN.
- Understanding of parallel computing architectures and experience in using HPC resources.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate simulation data into actionable recommendations.
- Use of AI/ML techniques for Data modeling and evaluation
- Knowledge of optimization techniques
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-driven and able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
Desired Skills
- Advanced simulation techniques such as Lattice Boltzmann methods, Fluid-structure interactions, Thermal-electrical coupling, or electromagnetic-thermal coupling.
- Sound knowledge of semiconductor wafer processing equipment and plasma physics will be added advantages.
