The Impact You’ll Make

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer in Enterprise Analytics group at Lam Research you will be responsible for designing and leading the data integration and ETL architecture across different verticals. The role is responsible for platform design, solutioning and automation. You will coordinate with development, security and infrastructure teams to support the business needs and collaborate with data architecture and development teams. You will also guide application and business development teams in the analytics design of complex solutions and ensure that they are in alignment with the COE data principles, standards and strategies. You are good and comfortable coding in Python, PySpark and SQL in cloud and Big Data environments and have a passion for productivity tools and comes with software engineering mindset.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze, design, and deliver data platform artifacts.
• Use leadership abilities to drive cross functional development on new solutions from design through delivery.
• Define, maintain, and promote the architecture, standards and processes as part of platform COE.
• Working with newer data tools and services and integrating them into the platform.
• Offer insight, guidance, and direction on the usage of platform capabilities and review usage and adoption as well as identify improvements.
• Forward thinking and being proactive to identify areas of improvement and come up with solutions.
• Develop collaborative relationships with cross functional teams and bring in process improvements in overall SDLC.
• Collaborate with US team, take directions and provide smooth transitions of deliverables.
• Constantly engage with the platform users to keep them informed and educated with capabilities.

Who We’re Looking For

• We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with a strong background in software coding and automation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and maintaining enterprise-grade data platforms. You should be passionate about leveraging data to drive business insights and have the technical expertise to design and implement robust data solutions. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, scalability, and performance. If you are a proactive problem solver with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, we would love to hear from you.

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of strong coding experience in Python, SQL and big data platforms.
• 6+ years of experience in designing, building, and launching extremely efficient & reliable data pipelines for movement of data to and from disparate source systems

• 3+ years of experience in working with Microsoft Azure and strong knowledge about ADLS, Blob Storage, Data Factory, MS Fabric etc.
• 3+ years of building transactional and reporting data models.
• Experience with Data Warehouse ETL design and development, methodologies, tools, processes and best practices.
• Experience in working with reporting tool is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in open-source big data and data processing tools.
• Excellent query writing and communication skills.
• Familiarity with common API’s: REST, SOAP and microservices architecture preferred.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
