This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of Supplier Quality Manager in India and with Global Supplier Quality team. This individual would be responsible to manage RF Power commodity supplier engineering tasks by working closely with suppliers and supplier engineering team in US and Asia region
The Impact You’ll Make
As a RF Engineer at Lam, you play a crucial role in designing, building, and troubleshooting cutting-edge radio frequency (RF) solutions for power delivery and plasma generation in our Etch and Deposition products. You specialize in utilizing RF as a power source and creating innovative generator designs. Your work paves the way for new power sources to be used Lam's wafer fabrication equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply skills and experience with semiconductor manufacturing and equipment to technical and quality problems encountered in the product life cycle with special attention to new product introduction.
- Apply Product and Systems Engineering approaches to understand and resolve problems with equipment functionality, component quality and reliability, design, and application margin, and in supplier quality systems.
- Apply findings to implement systematic and lasting improvements to product and process.
- Apply experience with industrial Quality Systems, Engineering Design & Documentation, Product Qualification, Change (EC) Processes and Problem Solving to issues occurring in product and component life cycles.
- Perform Program/Project and Supplier Management roles with emphasis on problem-solving analysis and improvements in manufacturing and test processes:
- Definition, review and improvement of Supplier’s Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA),
- Supplier’s Quality Systems and Processes of Record (POR).
- Work with Lam Product Group Engineering organizations in development and release of new Power Supply based products for Electro-Static Chucks, Plating Power supplies, Heater Supplies, as well as emergent technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics and Communication engineering with minimum 12 years of relevant experience/Masters in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics and Communication engineering with minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- More than 10 years of experience in Semiconductor equipment system or equivalent and component level problem-solving including analog and digital circuits, computer control networks and interactions of hardware and software.
- Work experience in Multi-kilowatt High Power RF Environments from 400kHz to 60MHz.
- Understanding of Transmission Line theory, Impedance matching, RF measurements & calibration techniques.
- Electrical measurement equipment familiarity, including: DMM, LCR, Milli-ohm Meters, Network Analyzers, Hi-Pot/Ground Bond Testers, Function Generators, Oscilloscopes, TDR Meters, Spectrum Analyzers.
- Working knowledge of: SPC, Cpk, DOE, GR&R (MSA), 5-Why, 6S/7W, T/F tests, box plots, 8D, Ishikawa diagrams.
- Working knowledge of electrical & mfg standards (Semi S2, OSHA, ISO9000/14000, RoHS, UL, IEEE, MIL, IPC 610/620).
- Strong business communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electro-mechanical assembly, methods of part fabrication, assembly, test and quality assurance.
- Practical lab and experimental experience are required.
- Industrial systems life cycle: Specification, Manufacture, Assembly, Test, Reliability, Systems Integration and Product Support.
- Experience in Analog Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly, manufacturing, inspection and test is preferred.
- Experience in handling suppliers from remote location and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and their products.
- Critical and creative thinking, qualitative and quantitative analysis methods

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
