Reliability Program Lead Engineer

The Group You’ll Be A Part Of

The Reliability team is a central team support all the product groups at Lam India Global Hardware team (LIGHT). The incumbent will be reporting to the Group Manager of Reliability team.

The Impact You’ll Make

Evaluates, from a reliability standpoint, the materials, properties and techniques used in production. Advises design engineering on selection, application and test of electronic components and systems. Recommends design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Determines reliability requirements of components and systems to achieve company, customer and any governmental agency reliability objectives. Develops new acceleration techniques and analytical tools to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging, processes, and product reliability. Makes recommendations for changes in the selection and application of components and systems. May propose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.

What You’ll Do

As a member of Reliability team - you will be responsible to:

• Define, revamp and drive Roadmap of Reliability team
• Define, implement and enhance the best practices of Reliability based product development 
• Participate and Lead cross-function team (CFTs) on various initiatives to demonstrate the reliability advantage
• Help organization with Reliability allocation, demonstration, validation and growth via mathematical modeling and testing
• Work on critical reliability issues of Lam tools, work with engineering to resolve them
• Works to integrate the sub-system level data to the tool level based on various system interactions
• Assist in design decisions on major subsystems with knowledge of systems principles & approach
• Perform analysis for system uptime and provide solutions for design as well as other process steps
• Keep Reliability test stands (capability) up to date, proposes upgrade based on needs to integrate more capabilities 
• Understand the gaps in internal infrastructure capabilities and develop/engage external partners for Reliability testing
• Develop Predictive Maintenance Models and Spares Inventory optimization algorithms
• Mentor, coordinate & approve work executed by peers and junior members of the team 
• Coordinate with BU managers/requesters for escalations and work priorities
• Articulated Value Proposition / Business impact of Work, defines priority based on value
• Generate IP for Lam and represent Lam in local/global external forums

Who We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience
• Background in Reliability analysis with Electrical / Electronics systems or Semiconductor Fabrication Process
• Knowledge of HIL (hardware in loop) testing as well as Hands-on Reliability testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstarted experience in AI / ML / NLP methods and its application
• Strong mathematical / Data science knowledge
• Experience in Semiconductor industry
• Certification and/or Degree in Reliability engineering (ASQ / Masters / etc)

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
