The Impact You’ll Make

As a Software Engineer at Lam, you will be at the forefront of innovation by designing, developing, and troubleshooting, and debugging software programs. Your role is pivotal in developing software tools that support design, infrastructure, and technology platforms. Your expertise will determine hardware compatibility and influence design, ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware.

In this role, you’ll make an impact across Lam’s entire product portfolio of equipment working within our centralized software engineering team, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products for semiconductor wafer fab equipment’s manufactured by Lam. 
  • Independently owns and drives high complexity, business critical projects as a subject matter expert in all phases of software development.
  • Maintain and enhance existing code base by investigating and resolving problem areas.
  • Demonstrate solutions through clear documentation, flowcharts, and well-structured code.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to design and develop software programs.
  • Technically monitors, supervises, and leads projects involving multiple developers from within and other departments by taking complete ownership of component or product software.
  • Works on complex SW issues and enhancements by deep analysis of abstract problem statement and makes appropriate technical decisions in selecting the methods, techniques to obtain increments results.
  • May visit customer site to provide support and have ability to travel (total is less than 10%).

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering with 10~14 years of experience
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Software (OOS), Object Oriented Design (OOD), or Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) implementation and design, including Design Patterns and Finite State Machines.
  • Exposure and experience with serial, MODBUS and EtherCat protocol implementation between Software and Hardware controller communication. 
  • Independently plans, co-ordinates, and executes high technical complexity projects from start to finish that involves multiple experts from CFT
  • Hands on experience of developing equipment/machine control software or embedded application layer software. 
  • Interested in semiconductor domain and keen to work in wafer-fabrication equipment software using Smalltalk programming language.
  • Accountable for reviewing and approving SW design and implementation of junior engineers. 
  • Strong analytical, logical, problem solving, trouble shooting skills.
  • This is a graduate eligible role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior semiconductor equipment experience.
  • Experience in distributed embedded controls system desired.
  • Software development skills in one or more general purpose programming languages: C++, C#.
