We are looking for a highly motivated, self-directed, and seasoned legal generalists based in Bangalore. This job description is for one of the positions which will be primarily responsible for providing legal advice and support to Lam India in connection with ongoing business operations, new market opportunities, government engagements, capex projects and other strategic investments, with a focus on commercial legal issues

What You’ll Do

 

  • Regional Counsel. Serve on the Lam India leadership team and provide general legal services across all business units enabling profitable growth while mitigating legal risks and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, company policies and ethics
  • Contracts. Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts including equipment sales, parts and services sales, purchasing direct/indirect materials and services, software licensing, subscriptions, confidentiality, information security and other common areas on a daily basis.
  • Training. Collaborate with stakeholders from other business units on implementation, training and compliance with respect to contract review and approval processes.
  • Knowledge Management. Maintain and assist in developing standardized contract templates, clause library, playbooks and internal knowledge management resources.
  • New Legal Obligations. Monitor and communicate legal developments in India and follow up or escalate as applicable to ensure business has process to comply.
  • Other. Provide strategic support and partnership to regional management and operations in India and other jurisdictions as may be assigned, in support of company vision and other objectives.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to influence decision makers at all levels
  • Effective project management and presentation skills with ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Strong customer orientation with ability to maintain independence and autonomy in the face of strong business pressures
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with ease and comfort working independently and as a global team player in matrixed organization
  • Willingness to work non-standard and in-office hours (this is not a remote position)
  • Fluency in English and Hindi

Preferred Qualifications

  • Law degree and admitted to practice law in India with minimum 12-15 years relevant post qualification experience including company secretarial matters
  • Company Secretary certification (ACS/FCS) required

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
