Job Responsibilities

Job Description : Strategic Commodity Manager -Logistics Commodity

  • Responsible for establishing Strategic vision for the commodity, evaluating and sourcing suppliers and managing ongoing supplier relationship to drive projects to achieve the objectives of global Supply Chain.
  • Proactively manage Logistics / Freight contractual expiry and compliance tied to the global category strategy
  • Represents strategic commodity management on a cross-functional strategic commodity team that focuses on supply challenges and ensures internal/external customer needs are satisfied.  Works cross-functionally with procurement, finance, manufacturing , regional site operations team and Global Logistics Organization
  • Increase the visibility of spend and the portion of spend under contract being actively managed as well as manage transactional approvals and process/policy compliance
  • Regularly evaluate cost and quality performance benchmarks , Understanding of key cost drivers and monitoring regional risk / opportunity
  • Enhancing internal stakeholder engagement that enables opportunity for increased procurement contribution to business challenges within the Logistics commodity
  • Leverage appropriate cost modelling techniques utilizing up to date market intelligence to ensure our cost structures are delivering better than market outcomes
  • Define and monitor metrics in line with AOP (annual operating plan) objectives relative to supplier performance , then drives team to address and close gaps to meet objectives
  • Encourage and coordinate early supplier involvement using the suppliers’ expertise to optimize quality, cost and speed to delivery.

Mandatory Skills & Requirement:

  • Proven ability to gain partnerships and excel working and leading in a cross-functional environment with  Finance , Global logistics organization , Procurement , manufacturing, Warehousing
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Global freight market and the dynamics in the market that influence price and drive cost for the operators
  • Strategic Commodity management
  • Knowledge of Warehousing, Distribution, Global Tariffs & Taxes, and Free Trade Zones.
  • Proven experience of strong analytical and problem-solving skills with history of successful resolution 
  • Exhibit attention to detail, sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment
  • Experience working within a large, global, center-led procurement team working for a remote line manager

Minimum Qualifications

Eligibility Criteria:

Years of Experience: Min 10 – 15 years in managing similar commodities

Job Experience:

  • Commodity Management and Familiarity with semiconductor, Electrical equipment Manufacturing or high-technology supply management practices, standards and organizations.
  • Business and technical background with an understanding of Global Freight / Logistics market and dynamics
  • Knowledge of Warehousing, Distribution, Global Tariffs & Taxes, and Free Trade Zones.

Educational: Bachelor’s in Supply Chain with Specialization in Logistics . MBA will be an preferred .

Willing to work in shift: 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM (Willing to work in any shift)
