This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of Supplier Quality Manager in India and with Global Supplier Quality organization. This individual would be responsible to manage Cables / Harnesses related supplier engineering activities by working closely with cable suppliers, Engineering and supply chain teams in US and Asia regions.

Job Responsibilities

This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of Supplier Quality Manager in India and with Global Supplier Quality organization. This individual would be responsible to manage Cables / Harnesses related supplier engineering activities by working closely with suppliers, Engineering and supply chain teams in US and Asia regions. Primary job responsibilities of the role are listed below:

  • Assess potential and existing suppliers of Cables / Harnesses for capability, capacity, quality systems, and compliance with industry standards. Lead supplier audits and qualification processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop, refine, and optimize cable / harness manufacturing processes to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Manage suppliers’ quality performance thru non-conformances (Lam internal / external (NCi & NCe) & supplier internal) & problem reports and develop holistic RCCAs.
  • Provide technical support to suppliers on cable design, assembly techniques, components selection, testing and manufacturing best practices thru process such as First Article (FAIR) & Process of Record (POR). Troubleshoot process and product-related issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of supplier qualifications, process specifications, test procedures, and quality records. 
  • Collaborate with cross functional and global teams to execute strategies and clearly communicate with stakeholders on strategy implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 4 years (or) Masters with minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience in resolving suppliers’ quality problems on cables/harnesses
  • Strong understanding on manufacturing, inspection & testing processes of cables and harnesses. This includes building a complex cable assembly, crimping, torquing, labeling, meeting industry standards (ex. IPC-620) etc.,
  • Exposure to various testing methods such as continuity, Hi-pot, insertion loss etc., and strong ability to interpret test reports, electrical schematics, cable components testing (sensors, raw cables, crimp pull test, bend radius), BOM & drawings.
  • Strong knowledge in problem solving tools such as 8D, 5-Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, DOE etc.,
  • Demonstrated ability to work in dynamic and fast paced business environment with cross-functional teams to execute the project and meet deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of industry standards (IPC-620, Semi S2, OSHA, RoHS, UL, ISO 9001/ IATF 16949 & ISO 13485:2016)
  • Experience in handling suppliers from remote location and maintaining a strong working relationship.
  • Experience in working in any ERP tool (ex. SAP, Oracle) & statistical tools (JMP, Minitab etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills to convert data into information and craft executive level summaries.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
