Introduction

Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge-semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas – deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean. Lam Research India team is organized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. We have an open position in the Hardware group in Supplier Quality Assessment and Development (SQAD) team

 

This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of Supplier Quality Manager in India, and closely working with Global Supplier Quality. This individual would be responsible to manage Mechatronics commodity supplier engineering tasks by working closely with suppliers and supplier engineering team in US and Asia region

Primary Job Responsibilities

You will be managing assigned suppliers in Mechatronics commodity to ensure expectations are met in terms of Quality. Evaluate the impact of internal & external non-conformances, and take a lead in problem solving activities, drive root cause and corrective actions with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances. Assist supplier in preparing and implementing 8D (RCCA), First Article, Process of Record (like PPAP approach) and Problem Report (Supplier Deviations, Engineering queries) etc. Drive supplier improvement through virtual assessment, manage scorecard, and support supplier qualification processes. Review supplier manufacturing processes & engage with suppliers to identify process improvements. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Engineering for business value enhancement opportunities

Mandatory skills and Experience required to perform this role

  • Hands-on experience in resolving Quality problems related to Mechatronic components and assemblies.
  • Proficient in Problem solving tools (8D Problem solving, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA,  DOE etc.).
  • Working knowledge & understanding of mechatronics equipment and component manufacturing processes like End effectors, Smart motors, sensors, Bearings, controllers, etc.
  • Basic understanding of test report interpretation and strong ability to read assembly drawings, mechanical drawings, specification & interpretation of BOM, GD&T symbols, Measurement

Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics/Mech/Prod/Aerospace/Automobile engineering with minimum 5yrs. of relevant experience  

        Or

Master’s degree in Mechatronics/Mech/Prod/Aerospace/Automobile engineering with minimum 3yrs. of relevant experience

Desirable Skills

  • Basic knowledge on Robot assembly & trouble shooting
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) & presentation skills
  • Experience in handling suppliers from remote location.
  • Experience in working in any ERP tool (ex. SAP, Oracle)
