The Impact You’ll Make
As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers’ locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.
What You’ll Do
This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of Supplier Quality Manager in India, and closely working with Supplier and Global stakeholders (Supply Chain, Product Group, Manufacturing). This individual would be responsible for managing and executing strategical projects, continuous improvement (CI) initiatives and meet Project/Quality metrics of OEM and COTs commodity. Individual’s primary job responsibilities are listed below:
- Manage complete commodity strategical activities to meet Global SET leadership expectations.
- Responsible for handling critical customer issues and come up with innovative ideas to avoid repeats.
- Drive projects to streamline and standardize the best practices across the assigned OEM suppliers to proactively to reduce the risk.
- Collaborate cross functionally and globally to execute strategies. Clearly communicate across engineering specializations and different levels of the organization for strategy implementation.
Who We’re Looking For
Educational qualification: Bachelor’s/Masters degree in Mech/Prod/Electrical/Electronics Engineering
Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree with minimum 8 years / Masters with minimum 6 years of relevant experience
Mandatory skills
- Knowledge on OEM/COTs component manufacturing process and functions like, Manometers, Pumps, Regulators, Valves, Manifolds, Sensor assemblies, Fasteners, smart motors etc.
- Ability to demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills. Familiarity with Power BI, 8D problem-solving methodology, GD&T symbols, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC) practiced at supplier end.
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams. Experience working in a dynamic, and fast paced business environment to execute the project and meet deliverables.
- Hands on experience in coordinating with supplier and other stake holders to drive root cause and corrective action to meet customer expectations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience with MS office tools (ppt, excel, project), statistical tools (JMP, Minitab etc.)
- Develop best practices/best known methods (BKMs) to improve the process
- Experience in handling suppliers from remote location
- Hands on experience in any ERP tools like SAP, Oracle
- Project Management certification like PMP

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
