Introduction

Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading edge-semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas – deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean. Many years ago, Lam Research embarked on a journey to set up an Engineering center in Bangalore to expand its reach to Indian talent pool. Over two decades, this center has expanded its capability and scope beyond Engineering and is organized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. One of the major functional groups of this entity is LIGO (Lam India Global Operations). Within LIGO, manufacturing engineering, cost performance engineering, supply chain and logistics, spares operations and planning, order fulfilment, inventory management, and supplier QA engineering functions work collaboratively to deliver best in class solutions for Lam’s global operations.

 

Lam India has an opening for the role of a Technical Program Manager within LIGO Manufacturing Engineering. This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of LIGO Manufacturing Engineering team and closely working with Global Manufacturing sites. 

 

LIGO Manufacturing Engineers work collaboratively with build factories across geographies to design and develop fixtures, ensure build readiness, and resolve assembly issues. We are in constant pursuit of manufacturing excellence through continuous improvements and innovations

Job Responsibilities

As a member of Global Manufacturing Engineering (GMFE), you will be responsible to lead programs that will enhance Lam Manufacturing methods and process impacting global factory network. You’ll lead cross-functional teams from global manufacturing sites through successful project execution blending your technical excellence with strategic planning to deliver new or upgraded process. Your role is vital, owning technical projects from initiation through delivery using your expertise in planning, directing, and monitoring schedules and budget. 

 

In this role, you will directly contribute to the successful implementation of an optimized and standardized process across Lam Manufacturing sites globally.

 

Position will focus on realizing results through the following:

  • Work closely with Global Manufacturing Engineering leadership/teams in identifying projects, align with global factories on project success criteria, develop project plan, establish cross functional team, manage risk through mitigation plans, and drive projects through release. 
  • Take ownership and accountability for the success of projects and cross-functional teams to ensure program schedules, performance metrics, and delivery meets business objectives on time and within budget. 
  • Partner with global factory network to understand process and system requirements and deliver value through commonality and standardization. 
  • Lead Continuous Improvement projects, owing the entire lifecycle from inception to impactful results. 
  • Coach and train team across geographies in process methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve the process and inspire alignment. 
  • Deliver change management for programs that are sustainable and maintain long-term success. 
  • Successfully navigate multiple projects in a dynamic environment and deliver sustainable outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for digital transformation and data analytics in collaboration with manufacturing sites to support the GMFE vision for smart factories.
  • Successfully present manufacturing-related projects at sub-BPM (Business Process Management) forums to seek support for the development of enterprise applications.
  • Conduct meetings to provide regular updates on the projects to the factory leaders by fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s in Mechanical / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering with 12-18 years of experience in relevant industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex technical projects/programs including ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and demonstrating leadership with the ability to motivate team effectively, facilitate collaboration, and influence a fastest to solutions-oriented culture. 
  • Demonstrated strong Problem Solving and Decision-Making ability and drive projects across geographical boundaries.
  • Strong data analysis skill and experience in extracting information from data and translate findings into an executable plan.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills with the ability to present to audiences at all levels in the company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowhow of Semiconductor / Wafer fabrication equipment industry.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing process, equipment, and systems
  • PMP certified with proficiency in MS Project, Power BI and other Project Management tools and techniques.
  • Experience in problem solving tools such as 8Ds, Fishbone, 5 Whys, Pugh matrix, Pareto chart.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate organizational, prioritization, and time management proficiencies.
