As a Technical Program Manager at Lam, you are not just overseeing projects – you’re orchestrating breakthroughs in support of [insert strategic initiative]. You’ll lead cross-functional teams through successful project execution blending your technical excellence with strategic planning to deliver new or upgraded products. Your role is vital, owning technical projects from initiation through delivery using your expertise in planning, directing, and monitoring schedules and budget.

What You’ll Do

Job Responsibilities:

• Executes sourcing strategies and sourcing plans for new products, including recommendations for new supplier selection & evaluation as part of Pilot Organization.

• Works within defined supply chain to source new parts.

• Ensures critical parts are sourced with pre-approved suppliers.

• Assists in the management of the transition of new products from pilot production to volume production

• Using software tools, perform regular cost rollups and analyze product cost performance to drive corrective action as required to achieve product cost targets, and manage the product cost roadmap prior to production release.

• Work collaboratively with supply chain and engineering stakeholders; provide input for supplier selection of piece parts or outsourced assemblies and identify supply chain risks supporting sourcing decisions.

• Responsible for resolving discrepancies between cost targets and quoted costs, creates and delivers presentations to program management and CFT stakeholders

• Fundamental understanding of should-cost or cost allocation & recognizes opportunities to improve product design for cost/quality/delivery by early supplier involvement.

• Provides feedback to engineering on DFx (cost, manufacturability, supply chain)

Costing:

o Submit should-cost requests for fabricated materials

o Secure cost estimates from Engineering should-cost and supplier base for new designs

o Issue RFQs for newly released parts (ability to read print, assess appropriate commodity and identify suppliers within Lam sourcing matrix)

o Cost roll-ups using MPM cost tool

▪ Cost analysis to include identification and management of gaps to target cost: what changed from month-to-month in product costing

▪ cost projection over time at different product run rates

▪ standard cost analysis and request for cost updates

o Identify cost reduction opportunities through design and/or sourcing

Sourcing:

o Work on sourcing strategy

o Work with purchasing to execute source changes based on aligned sourcing strategy

o Identify long lead parts and work with supply chain on strategies to mitigate LT

o Outsourcing: Host and/or Participate in supplier CFT’s to track outsourcing progress o Track first article supplier submission to completion

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 13+ years of industry experience in Program Management in NPI Ops with focus on Should Cost Modelling and Sourcing Strategies for New Product in a Technology based Manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial)
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering Preferred

Mandatory Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power Point and SAP

• Ability to read and interpret product BOM's and engineering drawings

• Must be a self-starter and be able to operate independent of day to day supervision

• Direct experience leading cross-functional team meetings; Program Management experience required

• Ability to demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills

• NPI/Operations experience is highly desirable

• Costing experience: needs to understand various costing models; and make vs buy analysis

• Excellent Excel skills required

• Good communicator to interface with suppliers and cross functional team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in or knowledge of Semiconductor fabrication, Semiconductor Equipment Operations, or related industries is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Program Management methods and experience in Product Development & Release (PDR) procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, strategic thinking and attention to details for everyday tactical execution
  •  Excellent people and presentation skills
  •  Knowledge of manufacturing methods and commodities as related to cost structure
  •  Supply chain knowledge, especially for critical commodities as related to sourcing decisions and cost strategies
