The Impact You’ll Make

Plans facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.

What You’ll Do

  • Developing controls and networking design.  Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA), develop control system software in PLC ladder logic, function block, structured text and HMI programming as well as performing all continued ownership and troubleshooting of the SCADA and PLC systems.  Must have relevant experience being lead engineer for hardware engineering.  Experienced designing process flow diagrams, P&IDs, single line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, instrumentation and control data sheets, I/O lists and controls narratives/sequence of operations. 
  • Configure and troubleshoot networking devices such as industrial Ethernet switches, gateways and OPC servers. 
  • Manage and own all control system operations.  Ensure any modifications and contractor installations reflect all quality standards. 
  • Engineering design reviews, construction oversight and start-up/commissioning support for facility construction and manufacturing systems expansions
  • Drive improvement of infrastructure system performance and up-time.
  • Provide technical oversight to operations and maintenance mainly in control & fire protection system. 
  • Review fire protection system design and work closely with FM Global on the gap assessment and compliance. 
  • Support as-built documentation of mechanical system layouts and P&ID’s

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC hardware/software.  ControlLogix PLC programming experience developing new programs and troubleshooting existing programs.
  • Experience with HMI programming and troubleshooting.  
  • Experience with VFD selection, programming, wiring, and interfacing.  Relevant knowledge of sizing of drives and components for drive functionality and safety. 
  • Vast variety of experience selecting and implementing wide ranges of instrumentation.
  • Experiences in Mechanical knowledge.
  • Well verse of Fire Protection System and related codes & standards (NFPA, FM, BOMBA, MS and UBBL requirement)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Controls, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Computer Science with 5-8 years of semiconductor manufacturing, R&D lab, wafer fab experience in controls and instrumentation.  Technical degree and certificate with equivalent experience may be substituted.
