Job Responsibilities

Production Test Tech 2s perform setup and testing/calibration of semiconductor Wafer Fabrication Equipment (WFE). They utilize a variety of tools, diagnostic equipment and computer-based testing instructions to ensure that equipment meets design specifications and customer requirements. This role will also prepare technical reports and summarize findings related to technical problems experienced while testing and troubleshooting circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.

  • Use hand tools, test equipment and fixtures to test Wafer Fabrication Equipment (WFE)
  • Read and navigate electronic work instructions (Cell Fusion) and schematics
  • Assist with audits through visual inspection and verifying checklists
  • Measure/Record/ Test/ Troubleshoot temperature, pressure, voltage, resistance, continuity and other measurements using digital multimeters, IR guns and other test equipment
  • Inspect parts for acceptance and correct or escalate as required
  • Perform leak checks (vacuum, water lines, connections and components, pressure decay) by utilizing appropriate equipment (i.e. fixtures) and procedures (Cell Fusion and KM Matrix); verify check completed
  • Indicate tasks are complete by utilizing I-marking, SQIP marks, and use of Swagelok go/no go gauges
  • Understand implication of work, complete tasks in creative and effective ways, and make recommendations for solutions
  • Install components/hardware by referring to drawings and Cell Fusion procedures utilizing correct hand tools, parts and fixtures; escalate non-conforming parts and procedures as needed
  • Resolve source inspection findings by troubleshooting/performing rework. Identify issues and improvements
  • Understand/ Report/ Document/ Review tool status and find tool information by utilizing various SAP commands, set up specialized equipment by gathering required fixtures, and use the proper escalation path
  • Close assigned tasks by verifying completion of testing operations- including Cell Fusion work instruction, signing off and providing thorough descriptions of what was done
  • Create detailed MFG tasks covering skipped steps, document abnormal conditions and tool reminder (TUA)

Other Job Responsibilities

Safety Protocol:

  • Complete all required safety training
  • Follow safe work practices by lifting no more than 35 pounds, using ergonomic pads, stretching when needed, etc.
  • Adhere to personal/ and product safety guidelines by:
  •   utilizing appropriate PPE following clean room procedures
  •   following Lockout Tagout policies and procedures (LOTO and ZEST)
  •   utilizing fixtures (lift hoists, lift track, gantry cranes, lifting tool) to aid in the assembly of tools
  • Perform Risk Management by Walking Around (RMBWA) inspections and document, correct and/or escalate safety issues/hazards to appropriate individuals/departments

 

Communication:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others through telephone, or in written form
  • Timely communicate verbally and in writing to appropriate managers/ individuals/ groups/locations to:
  •   ensure workflow and keep to the production schedule.
  •   identify production issues.
  •   suggest continuous improvements.
  •   give system status during shift pass downs.
  • Actively participate in meetings and training
  • Consistently exhibit behaviors that align with Lam’s core values
  • Work as part of a cohesive team to ensure that workflow and production schedules are maintained

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in electronics or related field required and/or equivalent military experience that includes electronics, such as avionics technician                                                             
  • 1-2 years of semiconductor capital equipment industry
  • Work 12-plus hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment
  •   Squat, kneel, walk, climb, stand and operate in ergonomically- challenging positions for over 50% of time
  •   Lift 35 pounds
  •   Perform repetitive motions using hands and various hand tools
  • Distinguish between colors for wire identification
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Flexible and responsive to changing priorities (e.g. rework, overtime and limited travel to other Lam/customer facilities, etc.)
