The Impact You’ll Make

As a Safety Operational Excellence Program Manager within Lam Research's Global Operations Quality group, you will be at the forefront of advancing safety programs that impact multiple business units. This role isn’t just about managing projects—it’s about driving meaningful change through a blend of technical expertise, project management prowess, and influential leadership.

In this dynamic hybrid role, you’ll roll up your sleeves and take a hands-on approach to ensure project success. Your ability to negotiate and influence will be crucial as you align diverse stakeholders and navigate conflicts. You’ll dive deep into business processes, analyzing data, evaluating systems, and pinpointing root causes to recommend impactful improvements. In an environment where ambiguity is the norm, your decisive actions based on available information will set you apart.

We’re looking for individuals with a proven track record of leading teams through complex problem-solving and spearheading continuous improvement projects that ripple across a heavily matrixed organization. Your leadership will be key to orchestrating efforts that drive operational excellence.

Lam Research’s Global Operations (GOps) spans multiple business units, including Order Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Logistics. While your primary focus will be on internal GOps stakeholders, you’ll also engage with external partners in Product Engineering, Field Operations, and Corporate Environmental Health & Safety—broadening the scope of your impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze program performance data to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, ensuring continuous enhancement of program outcomes.
  • Lead strategic discussions with executive stakeholders, senior leaders, and subject matter experts to develop and refine strategies that align with program objectives.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timely achievement of program milestones.
  • Provide clear and consistent updates on program status, goals, and any recommended adjustments, ensuring alignment across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Environmental Health & Safety, Product Engineering, and Global Operations teams to drive systemic safety and business process improvements, supporting the Global Operations mission to eliminate injuries and uphold environmental and safety compliance.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years in industrial or manufacturing engineering, ergonomics, or continuous improvement, managing projects of varying complexities.
  • Proven ability to lead global, cross-functional teams at all organizational levels, with a strategic mindset and the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for conveying complex concepts to both peers and executives.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, data analytics, root cause analysis, and business process reengineering, with a focus on injury reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Experience leading projects using Lean/Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies within a matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field. An MBA or master’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is a strong advantage.
