  • This position reports to the site General Manager, and part of the Global Operation Organization. This candidate leads the largest factory and operation in Lam based in Batu Kawan and other potential expansion of the region.
  • Direct responsibilities include providing leadership for Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and partner with key stakeholders in Global Supply Chain, Logistics, Trade Compliance, Finance, Order Fulfillment, and relevant corporate functions to build a strong and resilient organization culture to deliver to customer expectations from Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery.

Responsibilities

  • This leader is responsible for the operation of the factory, driving safety and quality mindset and mentality, setting up cross functional accountability and coaching to transform the factory workforce into a high performing team.
  • This leader needs to drive the culture of innovation and continuous improvement and deliver a long-term roadmap to drive transformation to the organization.
  • This leader is key staff to the site General Manager to strategize and execute to the site business strategy, AOP objectives and initiatives to support the growth of the company.
  • This role enables Lam’s Global Operations’ Vision and is a steward of the culture, setting direction and tone for the way we work every day to foster engagement, mutual trust and respect, and Lam’s Core Values.
  • This leader is responsible to partner with other factories and pilot operation to drive product and technology transition and ramp timely to support the business growth in Asia. 
  • This leader is required to develop succession plan to his/her next level to ensure healthy succession pipeline planning and ensure talent is valued and retained to ensure long term success of the organization. 
  • This leader is a role model of collaboration and is demonstrably adept at fostering teamwork and a high-performance culture, focused on delivering business results.
  • The ability to lead and manage effectively in a very diverse local environment and within a matrixed, global organization is critical.
  • He/she must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all audiences from factory labor to Senior Executives. Self-confidence, initiative, and the ability to think calmly under pressure are critical attributes. 
  • The ideal candidate is familiar with Malaysia culture, operating philosophy, strong semiconductor, or relevant industry background.
  • Creative, strategic, diverse, and sensitive, globally experienced, personable, achievement oriented and adaptive in leading transformational change throughout a highly matrixed organization.

Requirements

  • Serves as an active, engaged member of the Manufacturing leadership team, partnering with other Factory leaders to develop common strategies, adopt best known methods and assisting other factories as required to mitigate operational risks. Advocates for the needs of Lam Manufacturing Malaysia while also supporting Global Operations and Lam Research priorities.
  • Responsible for insuring that operation employee needs are met with significant focus on welfare and wellness, consistent with Lam policy and ensuring that Lam Manufacturing Malaysia is acknowledged as a place where successful people want to work and driving workplace to be inclusive and engaging.
  • Champion site culture and company mission, vision, and values always leading by example.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Engineering field, Masters (MBA, Master’s in engineering, other Operational discipline) is required.
  • Preferred working experience in a Multi-National Company (MNC) environment with senior executive positions for 10 years and above.
  • New and Greenfield Startup experience building a new team and leading through a period of significant growth is an added benefit.
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification with demonstrated competence in scientific problem solving, and ability to drive data driven decisions.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into locally relevant operational plans. Strong and proven execution capabilities.
  • Ability to set and manage accountabilities and expectations at all levels, acts quickly to resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and work across time zones.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
