The Impact You’ll Make

Designs, implements and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Responsible for planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution. Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products. Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary. May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards (i.e. GLP, GMP, ISO, Six Sigma).

What You’ll Do

This position is part of “Supplier Engineering and Technology” (SET) in the Global Operations Organization.

SET is an organization that is innovative in manufacturing technology, materials, and supply chain design. In this role,

  • You will work directly with supplier to improve their manufacturing process change, relocation/equipment change, conduct engineering review
  • Support Supply Chain group to resolve all factory line down issues by getting necessary technical details on time to take right engineering decisions
  • You will have the opportunity to work across organization functions to resolve technical, quality and production challenges, as well as opportunity to develop excellence in product design and manufacturing throughout the supply chain.
  • Drive supplier improvement through assessment and scorecard management. Evaluate the impact of Non-conformance both internal and external and assess supplier corrective actions. Assist supplier in preparing and implementing 8D (RCCA), First Article, Process of Record and Problem Report (PR), etc.
  • You will be accountable for high profile project timelines and milestones.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Minimum BS degree in Electrical, Electronics and communication, Mechanical and Material science engineering disciplines
  • 5+ years of related experience with BS; or 3+ years with MS
  • Hands on experience in process development, manufacturing engineering or product development in high tech industry
  • Experience in Electrical and Electro mechanical assemblies and OEM/COTs (Commercial off the shelf parts). This includes Cables, Cable assemblies, wiring harnesses, PCBA and preferably heater and weldment
  • Working knowledge of SPC, DOE, FMEA, FA, RCCA, 8D & 5-Whys Problem solving
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skill, and experience in cross-functional project management
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to travel within Asia to audit/visit suppliers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge on cable assembly components, manufacturing process, inspections and testing.  Also versed in heater and weldment.
  • Hands-on experience in resolving quality problems related to Electrical and Electro mechanical assemblies and OEM/COTs(Commercial off the shelf parts).
  • Well-versed with working principle of electrical and electro mechanical components like cables, harness inspection, tester, equipment and instrumentation
  • Knowledge on understanding IPC-620 Workmanship and Manufacturing requirements
  • Proficient in Problem solving tools (8D Problem solving, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, etc)
  • Interpret Electrical schematics, specifications and well versed with Electrical and mechanical standards
