This is a Supplier Engineer 3 position in the Fluid Delivery System Assemblies Commodity of Supplier Engineering and Technology (SET) at Lam Research in Asia. Lam Fluid Delivery System Assemblies (SET) is responsible for innovation and problem-solving in predominantly plastic assemblies, inclusive of manufacturing, testing, supplier quality, supply chain design, and material & supplier selection, development and technology.

 

The Impact You’ll Make

As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers’ locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.

What You’ll Do

  1. Apply skills and experience with semiconductor manufacturing and equipment to technical and quality problems encountered in the product life cycle with special attention to new product introduction.
  2. Apply Product and Systems Engineering approaches to understand and resolve problems with equipment functionality, component quality and reliability, design and application margin, and in supplier quality systems.
  3. Travel to Lam and Lam supplier manufacturing locations to conduct effective situation assessments, audits and investigations.
  4. Apply findings to implement systematic and lasting improvements to product and process.
  5. Apply experience with industrial Quality Systems, Engineering Design & Documentation, Product Qualification, Change (EC).
  6. Perform Program/Project and Supplier Management roles with emphasis on problem-solving analysis and improvements in manufacturing and test processes.
  7. Definition, review and improvement of Supplier’s Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA), Supplier’s Quality Systems, and Processes of Record (POR).

Who We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional engineering degree (or equivalent) with 3+ years of experience (preferably in the Semiconductor industry).
  • Subject Matter Expertise in at least some combination of the following areas:
    • Experience with plastic component manufacturing (maching, molding, etc.), plastic assembly (hot air, fusion, socket welding), inspection and leak testing is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of: GD&T, SPC, Cpk, DOE, GR&R (MSA), 5-Why, 6S/7W, t/F tests, box plots, 8D structured problem solving, etc.
    • Critical and creative thinking, qualitative and quantitative analysis methods.
  • Industrial systems life cycle: Specification, Manufacture, Assembly (OMS development, Build Verification), Test, Reliability, Systems Integration and Product Support.
  • Energetic and goal oriented, with a proven track record of managing technical projects to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to align cross-functional teams across multiple departments to achieve goals.
