Trade Operations Analyst

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments. Interfaces with internal and external customers, freight forwarders, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. Broker management in compliance to facility program. 
  • Trade operations provides support to validate and coordinate import/export transactional requirements, ensures pre-transaction regulatory requirements are fulfilled, using a deep knowledge, and understanding of Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse, Free Zone and Bonded Warehouse in line with business direction. 
  • In addition to trade compliance operations practices and procedures. Trade Operations stakeholder consist of logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, finance, and any other functional area that in relevant in any given business scenarios.

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Experience in LMW, import/export and global Trade Compliance in supporting the operational trade and customs activities.
  • Possessing of LMW relevant applications on all aspects.
  • Accurately submit application to respective government agency (primarily RMCD) on trade items by validating the details of the information for duty/tax qualification.
  • Accurately submit reporting to respective government agency (primarily RMCD) on trade items by validating the details of the information for reporting compliance.
  • Review and audit of shipment documentations (shipping documents, customs documents etc) to ensure trade compliance in accordance to local and international trade rules and regulations.
  • Perform audit and evaluate operational conformity to trade and customs rules and regulations, identify area for improvement and root cause analysis for ramification.
  • Working on streamlining trade support operations to create cost benefit solutions.
  • Tracking and reporting daily trace activity. Investigating and resolving all transactions discrepancies.
  • Key performance indicator development and management.
  • Build strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders to collaborate on trade operations deliverables.
  • Driving and collaboration with Finance on billing processes including third party billing processing platform.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of logistics and transportation operations experience in import, export and global trade compliance related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Experience/knowledge of ruling of Harmonized Tariff Code (HTS), Valuation, Incoterms, Country of Origin (COO), Free Trade Agreement (FTA), Strategic Trade Act 2010 etc.
  • Ensure complete and accurate record retention of documentations in accordance to internal policy and local country statutory requirement. Manage record archival from Trade Operations perspective.
  • Ability to train others on Customs procedures.
