Job Responsibilities

Incumbent will be part of the Global Logistics team responsible for effective solutions and to ensure commercial and trade compliance with relevant customs tax and related trade regulations. The individual will be the region’s Subject Matter Expert for diverse business groups, including supply chain, logistics and Sales Operations. At the same time, the individual will work with cross-functional teams to drive program improvements. At the same time, the individual will need to optimize logistics efficiencies globally whilst emphasizing operational compliance. The role requires the incumbent to interact with both internal and external partners at all levels.

 

Other Job Responsibilities

Commercial Trade Compliance:
•Responsible for duty mitigations, Inco terms, legal entities, tax and duty impacts
•Provide oversight to the Malaysia factory tax and duty mitigations with internal Legal, Tax, Foreign Trade and Finance stakeholders
•Responsible for the commercial trade compliance and supply chain support in Asia
•Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure that new initiatives / supplier initiatives are cost effective and compliant to scope, on time and on budget

Operations:
•Responsible for overseeing of non-standard shipping needs for engineering, drop shipment, repairs and return, upgrades in accordance to customer needs
•Ensuring accuracy of shipping documents and commercial invoice outputs
•Providing Subject Matter Expertise, decision making and be responsible for day to day operations

Procurement:
•Provide support in a matrixed environment on the development of new suppliers for terms of sales and related legal entity requirements

Warehousing & Transportation:
•Oversight of the import and export SOPs and Singapore & Malaysia brokerage management
•Establishing all necessary customs reporting across zones operations throughout Asia
•Support Asia sourcing overseeing terms of sales, related tax and legal entities related to international trade issues and corelated to warehousing and freight decision making. This includes transportation vendor qualifications, collaboration on  route planning with Supply Chain Logistics and the Finished Goods team

People Management:
•Direct and supervise the day-to-day work & projects of direct reports
•Manage competency & manpower resources within team to fulfill the need among different customers.
•Responsible for the annual Performance Management & Development exercise for direct reports
•Responsible for the training and development of direct reports.
•Develop and mentor high-potential personnel in order to continuously build a stronger team as well as provide opportunities for qualified internal personnel

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or related field
  • 15+ years’ experience across logistics, trade compliance, air freight, transportation and warehousing
  • Strong hands-on experience in Inco term management & implementation and contract management
  • Experience in developing strategic logistics / trade solutions (FTZ/FTA) and working with international custom brokers
  • Extensive knowledge in industry best practices (Warehousing / Logistics / Transportation /Trade Zones
  • In depth knowledge of WCO, US and Singapore/ Malaysia trade related regulatory regimes
  • Highly competent communicator who can successfully interact with cross functional teams, sponsors, management and business partners
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple processes and projects
  • Ability to see the big picture and grasp complex interconnections, self-driven, and “a bias for action”.
  • 20 - 25% travel will be required, covering mainly Malaysia and occasional travels to Korea and Taiwan
