Job Responsibilities

This individual will be the focal person for unified communication (UC) operations at the Malaysia manufacturing site. Partnering with the global UC support team, he/she will be heavily involved with the identifying, prioritizing, and resolving critical Skype, Teams, and TelePresence related issues that impact business operations. In addition, he/she will proactively seek to communicate solutions to UC related issues and preferred emerging technologies that can be used to improve the overall health of the company UC infrastructure. As part of the global UC operations team, this person will also be responsible for overseeing the tier 1 support team to ensure successful 24x7 global service delivery.  

  • Work with outsourcing provider’s technical team to ensure that hardware and software infrastructure is maintained with latest firmware and software requirements
  • Manage basic and expedited support to resolve all UC related issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all expedited issues impacting the customers’ and businesses challenges and needs
  • Proactively communicate the status, plan of action(s), and resolution(s) of issues
  • Monitor and report the performance of UC services against KPIs and take preemptive measures to minimize interruptions
  • Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving the overall UC infrastructure health by assessing overall effectiveness and efficiency
  • Evaluate new technologies and platforms to determine whether their applicability aligns with the businesses needs
Minimum Qualification
  • Able to identify, prioritize, and solve complex UC infrastructure related problems
  • Able to work in a fast paced complex and dynamic environment
  • Poise under pressure and comfort with ambiguity
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work with key business users to understand the business requirements and potential collaboration solutions within the current architecture.
  • Create and maintain detailed systems documentation and post to shares for team information sharing
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the following areas:
  • Windows systems administration, including server builds, applying security standard methodologies, and the planning and large-scale deployment of hardware and applications.
  • Video and voice conferencing infrastructure experience handling and deploying solutions such as Microsoft Skype for Business, Cisco solutions (Unified Call Manager, VCS Control, VCS Express, TMS, TPS, and TCS).
  • Deploying and supporting web conferencing and messaging solutions (Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
  • Cisco video conferencing codecs or similar full-room visual communication technology and related hardware.
  • Experience deploying and supporting video streaming infrastructure (VBrick, Ravnur, MS Stream, LiveStream or similar) required
Preferred Qualification
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 5+ years of work experience
    Microsoft Office 365 administration experience desired.
