Metryx&Job Responsibilities
Metryx, a Uk based company owned by Lam Research, was formed with a view to bringing a significant change to semiconductor measurement technology. Our innovative metrology utilizes the simplest of measurement parameters and the very basics of physics - everything has a mass and undergoes mass change during processing. By understanding a wafer's mass and how it changes as the wafer goes through a manufacturing process, chipmakers can save an exceptional amount of time and wasted wafer runs - all at the fraction of the cost of existing metrology solutions.
Supporting customers encountering problems using the company’s products, ensuring prioritizing responses and providing technical leadership is all aspects of problem resolution. Reports new or recurring problems to design departments. Ensures field team are properly trained when old products are changed or upgraded, and new products are released.
Other Job Responsibilities
- Providing hardware support at the factory or in the field depending on the need.
- Provides support to engineering, manufacturing and service products both at the factory and in the field.
- Includes working in customer wafer fabrication sites / environments as required to fulfil the support function.
- Creates and presents reports related to design, reliability, maintenance problems, SW bugs, projects and escalations to the relevant factory groups.
- Creates and updates documentation for field service engineers and customers.
- Support reported product issues by the field service engineers via problem reports
- Participates and leads as required Knowledge Management activities to share learning worldwide in order to expedite solutions, reduce repeat issues, escalations and improve cycle time closure.
- Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.
- Responsible for customer betas including installation, qualification, milestones, technical requirements, training and certification of local teams / customer.
- Can include travel at short notice (24 hours).
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical engineering education to degree standard
- High tech background, with relevant industry experience
- >5 years’ experience in developing. manufacturing or supporting capital equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Has held Global Product Support role or similar within Lam or other semiconductor capital equipment company
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Analytical skills
- Able to represent Lam by creating material and expertly presenting technical findings to the customer and support teams
- Leadership of cross functional problem solving teams in high priority escalations, containing problems and delivering proven, tested solutions
