Job Responsibilities

 

Manages the support of customers encountering problems using the company’s products, ensuring prioritizing responses and providing technical leadership is all aspects of problem resolution. Reports new or recurring problems to design departments. Ensures field team are properly trained when old products are changed or upgraded, and new products are released. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operation of the support team.

Other Job Responsibilities
  • Escalation Management
    • Strengthen technical support to resolve Type 1, Type 2 and all Type 3 Escalations when required.
    • Provides leadership on application of problem solving methodologies to achieve faster development and implementation of a solution on all escalations.
    • Accountable for prioritising resources (manpower/ parts design) from the Engineering Group.
    • Strengthen escalation related communication such as:
      • On product group owned or engaged escalations.
      • To the field teams of all impacted customers.Resolution plan to affected customer per Lam Business Processes for Type 3 escalation.
      • Determine appropriateness and timing of tech memo/service bulletin (if required) to announce forward build fixes and field upgrade options during implementation of escalation solution to ensure notification of changes precede shipment of changes.
    • Accountable for ownership of and closure of all Product Group/GPS owned escalations.
  • Product Changes/New Product Introductions
    • Ensures support teams are properly trained when old products are upgraded or new products are released.
    • Accountable for Beta site and support preparation in line with PDR 4001 Field readiness
  • Responsibility for documentation and field training responsibilities
  • Responsibility for development and management of direct reports
Minimum Qualification

Experience in how Lam supports both customers and products

Engineering Discipline Degree

High-tech background, with relevant industry experience

5-10 Years in capital equipment manufacturing

Experience in managing or supervising people

 

Preferred Qualification

Has held Global Product Support role, Field Service Role, Regional Support Role or similar within Lam Research

Problem Solving & Decision Making

Analytical Skills

Strong management, planning, negotiation and leadership skills

Excellent written and verbal communication & presentation skills
