POSITION SUMMARY

 

Responsible for providing quality repair and preventive maintenance service of company equipment at customer sites. May install or relocate customer equipment and perform associated start-up and check-out procedures under supervision.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

 

Technical

- Performs on site general preventive maintenance. Replaces defective units, components or parts as appropriate.

- Applies troubleshooting techniques to eliminate equipment malfunctions. Usually refers to technically more experienced staff for assistance and guidance when assessing severity of malfunctions and determining corrective actions required.

- OJT/assist in start-ups; PM's; baseline checks and all wafer handling transfer calibrations.

 

Performs application related Project Management, which includes

- Executes project action items under direct supervision

 

Customer relation

- Shadow more experienced engineer at customer site.

- Limited customer interface

- Professionally represents the company to the customer

 

Flexibility required for initial extensive training in US and at other locations in Europe.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

 

Minimum education                 BS/AS degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or related field (4 yr Bachelor degree preferred)

 

Minimum experience               No previous experience required.

 

Liaison                                      Significant interface with Training Deptartment and On job training assignments

                                                   Limited interaction with Customer Support Business Group /Product Group for escalations

                                                   Regular business travel required

 

Required Skills                         Good written and verbal communication skills

                                                   Fluent English, knowledge of German

                                                   Analytical and problem solving skills

                                                   Driving lisence
