Manager, Global Product Support

The Advanced Equipment and Process Control (AEPC) division of Lam Research creates sensor hardware and software to automate, control and optimize the performance of process equipment at the leading edge of the semiconductor industry. 

We are seeking a passionate, results driven, and customer focused technical leader to build and lead a new global product support team in our Dublin, Ireland office. This is a position of significant importance with opportunity for career growth as the team expands.

 

In this role, you will become a technical expert in multiple AEPC products, all of which have a high algorithm and software content, and lead a team of engineers supporting the field through beta eval and post release phases. This will require you and your team to understand, define and resolve complex technical problems, develop new algorithms, and interface with product design teams to ensure effective solutions are developed to meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provides advanced level technical support through analysis of data to troubleshoot and manage escalations and provide performance improvements for Lam AEPC products
  • Communicates as a subject matter expert on high level technical issues and escalations while providing guidance and recommending solutions
  • Reports new or recurring problems to design engineers, ensuring issues are resolved through product design release business processes. Establishes and maintains systems that provide answers to common questions and problems.
  • Selects, develops, and manage personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
  • Build relationships and collaborate with regional account teams across the globe, with development and technology management teams in Ireland and USA, to ensure the successful evaluation and ongoing use of the groups products in high volume manufacturing at customer sites.

 

Required Qualifications (all of the following):

  • Ph.D. or Master in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronic engineering or a related field
  • 8 years of professional experience in technical development of products based around algorithms, data analytics, machine learning and software computation.
  • Solid mathematics background (linear algebra, probability, optimization) and ability to interact with data scientists and software developers.
  • Software coding capability for data analytics using Python, Matlab, R, or C++
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to manage a team of engineers, define new and improve existing business processes to ensure customer success
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with a structured approach and analytic capabilities for algorithm creation and testing
  • Superior written and verbal technical communication and inter-personal skills, with experience in a customer facing role.
  • Candidates must hold a valid work permit to work in Ireland and be willing to travel internationally up to 25% of the time. Initial training will be in California or Oregon, USA

 

Desirable Qualifications (any of the following):

  • Fab experience, semiconductor equipment, plasma physics or process control experience are all valuable
  • Experience with analysis of optical spectroscopy data, and metrology measurement techniques
