Job Responsibilities

Working within the Strategy and Innovation team in the Office of the CTO, this internship opportunity involves working with stakeholders in Lam’s Technology Scouting team to develop and implement a new SharePoint Online-based database and site for managing external engagements.  Inspired by an older on-premises database serving a similar function, you will reimagine the site to expand functionality, improve ease-of-use, and enable use of business analytics tools for data visualization.  This effort will increase the Technology Scouting team’s bandwidth and effectiveness, impacting dozens of high-value projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of 3 or more years of a Bachelors’ degree program in computer science, physical science, engineering or other related discipline
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills
  • Interest in the topic for personal and professional development, passion for learning and enthusiasm

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intellectual curiosity – desire to understand how things work and why/how they could fail
  • Organizational skills – create plans to meet objectives and deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication as well as solid presentation skills
  • Stakeholder management – ability to engage others, balance inputs to drive toward objective
  • Teamwork – effective in a team environment that includes product design engineers, supplier business engineers, manufacturing, suppliers and IT  
  • Problem solving and persistence –deep dive to understand ways of working, use cases, and opportunities to improve the value of experiments and data as needed
  • Vision – ability to anticipate problems and create plans to prevent them
  • Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft PowerShell and/or experience with database concepts are a plus
