Director, Corporate Business Development North America/Europe

The Corporate Business Development (CORPORATE BD) organization is looking for a candidate for a Director level position to manage the team. CORPORATE BD Director is responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing new business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, and collaborations with customers. The position also oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. CORPORATE BD Director works closely with Account and PG executives in defining, planning, and implementing of strategic business vision, objectives and strategies for targeted region and accounts. Corporate BD also is expected to build effective and efficient team operations with its own and matrixed functions.

Corp BD Director’s responsibilities include:

  • Develop region and account sales and marketing strategies working with Account GMs and across PGs and CSBG to deliver long term business growth optimize Lam’s business opportunity with appropriate value capture/sharing
  • Works with account teams to develop strategic account sales strategies, action plans and drive execution of Corporate across products deliverables such as N+2~3 Lam strategic positioning proposal with product management, marketing and sales operations.
  • Works with account team to develop comprehensive, commercial business proposal (VPA) such volume purchase agreement to set objectives to maximize Lam business opportunity across product lines including CSBG at an acceptable profitability
  • Ensure the VPAs agreed are well understood and executed in time, delivered the key objectives
  • Responsible for the revenue synergy business objectives by working together with account team and product group to set objectives, plan and execute to meet corporate goal.
  • Management of and participation in high-level customer visits at HQ to optimize Lam product opportunity, deliver key messages and develop customer partnership, relationship with mutual trust.
  • Evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities for Lam Products. Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Defines vision, strategies, and tactics.
  • Ensures the customer technical requirements are well defined, understood and communicated to the product group and work with the appropriate technical groups to assure a solution is provided so that penetration and defense objectives are met
  • Responsible for meeting penetration, bookings, gross margin objectives for the region
  • Responsible for generating weekly reports for business in the region and for presenting regional forecast and business updates at the appropriate review meetings
  • Provides direction and leadership to sales ops. team. 
  • Accountable for managing the forecasted bookings, deals analysis and decision support, configuration and spec accuracy, Order Fulfillment execution, overseeing shipments and commits, gross margin actuals vs. targets, metrics reporting and corrective action, execution to VPA commercial deal commitments. 
  • Requires an excellent understanding of standard business practices related to Accounting (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Invoicing), Sales Operations (Proposal, Orders, Forecasting, and Territory Management), Inventory Management (Purchasing, Scheduling, and Order Fulfillment). 

Key Skills: 

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact and collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams. 
  • Bi-lingual in Mandarin preferred, but not required. 
  • Semiconductor experience from customer or vendor over 15 years
  • Marketing and Sales experience over 10 years
