Job Responsibilities
Lam’s Director of Pilot Manufacturing Management is responsible for Production related to the manufacturing of the company’s capital equipment, systems, components, subassemblies, and subsystems.
Job Duties
- Lead teams to identify, troubleshoot, document, and resolve complex hardware, software, and electrical problems with manufacturing, test, and development engineering. Identify, communicate, and resolve production, personnel, quality, and safety issues
- Work with cross-functional teams in support of key business initiatives as part of the Lam Product Development and Release (PDR) process; partner with Engineering and Product Management teams on new product development to deliver on engineering roadmaps
- Support multiple business units across Lam in new product introductions and enable high quality transitions to global volume Manufacturing sites in the lowest number of iterations
- Maintain a safety-first culture and ensure prevention of workforce accidents and injuries; implement, emphasize, and monitor importance of compliance to appropriate safety policies and procedures
- Manage budgets for the factory including direct labor costs, work schedules and capital expenditures
- Drive and improve accountability system in the organization to deliver predictable results inside a matrixed organization
- Build organizational capabilities, effectiveness, and succession through organizational development strategies
- Prioritize production schedules based on customer commitments, available manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and materials requirements while ensuring safety and quality are not compromised
- Validate existing business processes and accountability systems; architect new tools to optimize factory capacity, scale effectively and deliver predictable results efficiently. Lead and support systems transformation project to improve analytics and speed to solutions
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
- Twelve+ years’ experience in Operations or Engineering including 5+ years’ experience managing direct reports
- Strong demonstrated leadership and management skills to achieve operations and business objectives
- Ability to demonstrate excellent negotiation and collaboration skills within an Engineering and Manufacturing environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with both senior management and non-exempt manufacturing staff
- Requires being onsite full-time during COVID
- Post-COVID must be willing and able to travel up to 5% (domestic and international) if needed
