Job Responsibilities

Leadership role in Lam’s Bay Area Pilot Operations organization.  The environment is fast-paced, challenging, and an opportunity to effect transformational change in a Fortune 500 company. 

The new position of Director of Manufacturing and Test Engineering will be directly responsible for the buildup and development of a High-Performance Team in support of a fast pace manufacturing work environment. Responsible for the planning and development of their organization in driving the implementation of new manufacturing methodologies and processes with both a strategic and tactical hands-on approach. This will include collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders in the Product group and Global operations. This role will have the ability to provide tangible input and influence new products in design for manufacturing, test architecture, test fixture design strategy across multiple product families.


Other Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring new products meet the DFMA requirements and ensuring successful and timely transition of new products to high volume manufacturing
  • Delivering to product/program objectives for labor content, cycle time, mfg quality and factory fitment.
  • Developing and scaling a diverse team of engineers and managers that effectively and positively influence the design and manufacturing of new products.
  • Fostering a high-performance culture and holding managers accountable for team development in addition to business results.
  • Planning the resource, schedule and equipment required for automated test development and deployment. Managing the Capex for Mfg and test fixtures and equipment
  • Developing and maintaining predictive resource models that ensure adequate staffing can be maintained in a dynamic program and product environment.
  • Implementing best practices and engineering methods, providing technical guidance to engineering teams and presenting to Sr. Executives.
  • Supporting and contributing to development and execution of organizational strategies.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, finding and implementing ideas to improve cost-efficiency.
Minimum Qualification
  • 12+ years of related experience and at least 8+ years in engineering and/or manufacturing management
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively across organizational and functional boundaries in a medium or large sized organization.
  • Comfortable with Ambiguity and uncertainty; the ability to adapt quickly and lead others through complex situations.
  • Familiarity with virtual manufacturing and model-based-design (MBD) techniques.
  • Identification of opportunities for manufacturing and test time reduction through leading both continuous improvement and step-function changes.
  • Experience with Semiconductor equipment and New Product Introductions
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Bachelor’s degree within the engineering field. Master’s degree is preferred.
