The Impact You’ll Make
Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions.
In this role, you will directly contribute to the development of Etch Products as a part of the global product group.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop highly complex electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
- Contributes to research and development efforts for future products by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
- Develops functional specifications for highly complex electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
- Perform hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment to characterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
- Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.
- Acts as a resource and mentor for more junior colleagues.
Who We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 12+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 8+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience
- Semiconductor capital equipment AC/DC power distribution design fundamentals and experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Semiconductor capital equipment AC/DC power distribution design fundamentals and experience
- Industrial electronics, control systems, and basic mixed analog/digital I/O and familiarity with EtherCAT communications protocol.
- High voltage power supply design
- Familiarity with basic heater control systems
- Working with vendors to implement your designs in a timely and cost-effective fashion
- 5 Why’s analysis in RCCA (root cause and corrective analysis)
- Contributor/Driver of FMEA (Failure Modes effects analysis)
- Orcad Schematic Capture (familiarity with board stackup, routing, layout issues)
- E3 system cable interconnect/NX cable integration
- Systems integration/troubleshooting/instrumentation expertise
- Labview data acquisition familiarity (hardware and software

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
Salary
CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $117,000.00 - $259,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
