Multi-talented embedded systems hardware design engineer for various semiconductor plasma etchers.

Responsibilities include collaborating with process, systems, software, electrical and mechanical engineers to develop embedded system hardware design requirements, and then realize the embedded hardware design.

A/D, D/A, DSP, FPGA: Xilinx ZYNQ, & Microchip PIC embedded microcontrollers.

Proficient in embedded FPGA and software development.

Knowledge of control loops and control system design: gain phase margin, pole zero stability diagrams, PID, SISO, MIMO, feed forward. 

Interface, operation and control of peripheral devices such as:  RTD’s, thermocouples, electric actuators, stepper motors, heaters, pressure sensors, pressure controllers, flow controllers.

Knowledge of digital signal processing: FFT, FIR, IIR. Must be well versed in communications protocols(SPI, I2C, EtherCAT, Ethernet, RS232), analog circuit design and analysis, schematic design, Strong PCB design skills including signal integrity, Orcad, Pspice, proper grounding techniques, EMI/EMC design and mitigation; as well as analysis/simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, LabView.

 

Typical 12+ years experience embedded system design with multiple analog and digital I/O capabilities, FPGA, DSP & microcontroller based products.

BS or MS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.  Proficient in large scale RTL design, Verilog or VHDL, C/C++, MatLAB, LabView, Xilinx ZYNQ. Also must be skilled in experimental prototyping test and measurement.

 

 

The position requires high motivational skills, capable of leading a cross functional design team, excellent written & oral communication and presentation skills.
