Intern – Machine Learning and Algorithm Engineer.

Lam Research is seeking an intern with a Computer Science Major and background in software development / machine learning to work alongside Lam data scientists and process engineers. The intern will help implement computer vision / deep learning techniques on a variety of images and package them for production deployment.


Preferred Experience:

  • Proficient in Python
  • Packages: pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, OpenCV, matplotlib, pyspark, keras, tensorflow, and PyQt5 a plus.
  • Strong course history of advanced level mathematics and Computer Science AI track.
  • Relational and sql databases.



  • Working alongside Lam data scientists analyzing multi-dimensional datasets from various sensors to develop generative and discriminative models.
  • Deploying deep learning methods with traditional computer vision to build robust image detection and feature recognition.
  • Write robust and maintainable code that is well documentation with version control.
  • Identify core requirements for image classification.
  • Help with creating and deploying apps while providing UX feedback.
  • Build trained data sets.



  • Comfortable with reading, implementing, and lecturing on new research papers.
  • Understanding of deep learning workflow and theory.
  • Open source contributions, strong git history.
  • Previous work analyzing multi-dimensional data, including segmentation, reconstruction, classification, or manipulation.
  • Strong communication skills.
