Are you intellectually curious?  Do you like learning how things are made?  Do you have a passion for improving processes to achieve greater control and reliability?  Do you like troubleshooting and driving to root cause and corrective actions?  If so, you should strongly consider a position at Lam Research as an intern in the global Supplier Materials and Technology (SMT) organization. SMT is an organization that is innovative in manufacturing and engineering technology, materials, & supply chain design.  This position will provide you an opportunity to master the complexities and challenges of product engineering, process control, yield optimization, and troubleshooting for the many technologies used a variety of leading-edge Lam semiconductor equipment products. 

This candidate will be responsible for performing professional engineering examination of ceramics and quartz in the areas of engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical, materials), chemistry, and physics.  The ideal candidate will play an active role managing projects, designing and conducting independent experiments and tests.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, design and optimize metrology tools for ceramic and quartz materials characterizations.
  • Design and execute an experiment, review data, develop conclusions for repeatability study


Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Education: BS/MS/PhD degree in a technical field:  Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent
  • Excellent project management, organizational and oral/written communication skills are required
  • Strong multi-tasking ability to manage a number of projects with high variety
  • Working knowledge of SPC is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proven history of successful resolution
