IT Enterprise Architect


Lam Research has an exciting opportunity to bring Enterprise Architecture to life. We are seeking a highly capable and pragmatic Enterprise Architect to help guide our digital strategy forward. This role is a key member of the CIO staff and will work closely with key business stakeholders to realize tangible outcomes from the application of technology solutions to business challenges. The right candidate will have experience deploying lightweight EA models and methods to solve practical problems utilizing collaboration, influence, and leadership.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of the EA function. Promote the business value of this capability, its processes, and the results of the EA program to business and IT leaders.
  • Lead the development and implementation of an enterprise architecture based on business strategy and requirements.
  • Seek opportunities to highlight how digital business initiatives will potentially impact enterprises' economic architecture and metrics.
  • Understand the competitive and financial levers that drive our business. Identify potential threats and opportunities for digital transformation with the intent to guide technology investment decisions.
  • Discover and/or design as-is and to-be business models through business stakeholder collaboration.
  • Apply new and emerging technologies in concert with domain architects and business subject matter experts.
  • Construct technology-enabled operating models. Provide viable options and visibility into execution issues.
  • Continually scan for major disruptive technology and nontechnology trends that affect business. Provide advice and best practices to overcome these challenges and successfully deliver the expected business outcomes.
  • Contextualize technology trends based on social, economic, political and other nontechnology trends.
  • Lead the analysis of business and operating models as well as market and industry trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise's business strategy, direction and architecture.
  • Define and implement mechanisms to measure business value returns for technology solutions. Establish accountability systems to ensure outcomes.
  • Execute technology experiments or POCs in concert with other architects, stakeholders, and IT delivery teams to substantiate technology application hypotheses.
  • Determine the relationship between people, processes, information, technology and things of the enterprise, and their relationships to one another and to the external environment.
  • Work with business peers to develop and present business capability models and roadmaps to facilitate discussion and decision making with stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Analyze to-be business and IT environments to detect deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement / action paths.
  • Provide perspective on the readiness of the organization to change and innovate. Participate in organizational change management activities as warranted.
  • Work closely with the program management office (PMO) or project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised.

Credentials and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum eight years of business or IT experience with a direct responsibility for strategy formulation and/or translation, business execution, and program management.
  • Management experience in one or more of the following areas: strategic planning, leadership, business relationship management and business process management.
  • Hands on experience constructing and operating an Enterprise Architecture program with associated models and frameworks. Emphasis on lean, practical approaches.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technology and business trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models
  • Proven track record for project and program delivery. Exposure to structured project methodologies.
