The Impact You’ll Make

Plans facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for Fremont and Livermore campus chemical infrastructure systems
  • Core chemical systems of responsibility include, but not limited to:
  • Primary: Chemical/Process systems – Gas Systems: Specialty Gas (Hazardous, Inert), Bulk Gases (H2, O2, He, N2, Ar, Natl Gas)
  • Secondary: Chemical/Process systems - Water Systems: Acid Waste Neutralization, Fluoride Waste Treatment, Metal Waste Treatment, Transfer Lift Stations, Reclaim/Reuse Water, RO/Deionized/Ultra Pure Water, Domestic/Industrial Cold Water, Industrial Soft Water, Sanitary/Storm Drain
  • Provide chemical engineering design review input and approval for facility infrastructure and process tool installation projects
  • Operational ownership of chemical system performance
  • Provide chemical engineering construction input and commissioning support for facility infrastructure projects
  • Support as-build documentation of chemical system layouts and P&ID’s
  • Maintain load/capacity studies for facility infrastructure systems
  • Provide direction of liquid balancing services
  • Drive improvement of infrastructure system performance and up-time
  • Work directly with contractors and service providers to ensure delivery of operational results
  • Perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis during project design development phase

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering with minimum 5 years of high tech/semiconductor R&D lab/wafer fab experience
  • Familiarity with semiconductor specialty gases (properties, hazards, etc) and safety practices
  • Familiarity with process PLC control systems
  • Experience with standard operating procedure creation and training skills
  • Experience with energy efficiency improvement projects
  • Capital and expensed project financial management and control experience
  • Strong safety culture
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Thrive in working in a fast paced, high energy work environment
  • Value internal and cross-functional teamwork to solving problems
  • Assertive nature and willingness to support customer needs when challenged

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer license

Salary

 

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $86,000.00 -  $202,000.00.

 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
