The Impact You’ll Make

As a Facilities Engineer at Lam, with your project management expertise, you’ll plan and oversee facility changes for plant, tool installations, and production equipment layouts. You'll work with architects to develop design criteria, layouts, and prepare contracts. You inspect construction and installation progress to ensure adherence with established specifications and schedules. Your focus on performance specifications required to meet unique operating conditions contributes to the efficiency and compliance of Lam's state of the art facilities.

What You’ll Do

  • Plans facilities changes for plant, lab, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations
  • Manage the EOR completion of design drawings and lead the design reviews (point of connection of pipe, electricity, exhaust, specialty gas, chemical supply equipment, etc.)
  • Prepares and solicits bid packages and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
  • Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Participate in tool installation design reviews ensuring outsourced design firms design to established Lam protocols and expectations.
  • Assist in startup of gas systems and process equipment to reach process qualification on new process modules
  • Drive cost reduction on projects through competitive bidding, negotiations, and contracts management
  • Align and report weekly with the Lab ops customers
  • Present in the SIPP, ITP review, and ETS meetings associated with tool installations
  • Coordinates with City of Fremont for Hazmat and Fire Inspections
  • This is a full-time onsite position

Who We’re Looking For

  • Two (2) years' experience managing complex projects or programs in high technology industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering plus minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results within matrixed organization.
  • Creative thinking, strong problem-solving skills, ability to lead a team for solving problem.
  • MS Office – Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Projects and Bluebeam.
  • CAPM or PMP Certification

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

 

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $67,000.00 -  $131,000.00.

 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
