Role and Responsibilities

Role: Etch Business Unit Senior Financial Analyst

As a member of the Etch Product Group (EPG) finance team you will be responsible for delivering planning, forecasting, execution, reporting, analytics and close related to Headcount and Operating expenses of the largest revenue business unit at Lam. This role will report into the Sr. Manager.

You would be a the primary finance business partner to the program managers to provide inputs on financial planning, execution of budgets and operating forecasts. You will also have the opportunity to engage in headcount, cost and investment modeling and analytics to drive business outcomes.

This role has high visibility with EPG Executive Management and offers the opportunity to work cross functionally with different groups outside of EPG Group such as Product Management, Program Management, Lab Operations, Global Operations Finance, Product Group Operations, Business Development, Sales Operations, etc.

Key responsibilities include:
•Managing Quarterly forecast reviews (QxR), Annual Operating Planning (AOP) and Balance Sheet Review (BSR) Cycle, Strategic Planning, Close, Proforma forecast and other deliverables
•Partner with business units and other finance groups to build forecasts
•Publish financial schedules on a regular basis to track actual performance vs. forecast
•Variance Analysis and Recommendations for headcount, opex and other requests and providing business context to changes
•Champion and lead projects to improve existing processes and systems
•Collaborate and manage deliverables with outsource provider to enable successful end to end work product eg. journal entry postings, recons, reporting, etc.
•Subject Matter Expert for BPC (SAP Business Planning and Consolidation application) as well as Quick base – develop, maintain and improve system capabilities
•Partner create and publish reports to aid in KPI Tracking, in support of short term and long term initiatives
•Complete SOX requests, Tax and other Audit requests as needed 
•Support other adhoc requests as needed

Skills and Competencies:
•Excellent financial systems expertise and efficiency, especially with Advanced MS Excel, SAP, Business Objects/forecast entry and dashboard systems, MS PowerPoint
•Extremely detail-oriented, well organized, high standard of accuracy and ability to multi-task
•Sense of curiosity, ability to problem solve, deal with ambiguity, and desire to learn and grow
•A proactive and independent person who identifies issues and drives them to resolution
•Flexibility to manage unplanned requests, prioritize deliverables to meet deadlines
•The person must also be driven to continuously identify and implement improvements to processes, analytics, and metrics
•Solid interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships at all levels of the organization
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must be able to summarize issues/analysis into simple and clear messaging and recommendation for senior management

Minimum Qualification
  • BS required in finance, accounting or related field, MBA or related professional certification (CPA, CMA, CIA, CA) preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Industry knowledge preferred but not required
